The Squeak Squad is a band of thieving mice who were initially featured in Kirby Squeak Squad and have become recurring characters in the Kirby series. They are composed of four main members as well as a plethora of tiny Squeakers.

Background[edit]

Not much is known about the Squeak Squad except that one day, for seemingly no reason, they took off with Kirby's strawberry cheesecake and headed off to the castle of King Dedede. Kirby traveled and fought Dedede, but realized afterwards that it was not him. However during the ruckus, the Squeak Squad took off with a chest that contained Dark Nebula. Kirby tracked them down through the various world, often engaging in races with Daroach's three goons to grab the giant treasure chests in levels.

After Kirby defeated Daroach in the sixth world, Meta Knight showed up to steal the chest away before Kirby could open it. Kirby, still going after his cheesecake, tracked Meta Knight down and defeated him too. Before Kirby could open the chest, Daroach showed up and stole the chest yet again. When Kirby tracked him down again, Daroach had opened the chest in the Gamble Galaxy and was possessed by Dark Nebula. After Kirby defeated Daroach again, he fought Dark Nebula's true form. After his adventure, the Squeak Squad sent Kirby a strawberry cheesecake as an apology for the trouble they caused.

Members[edit]

Daroach[edit]

Daroach.jpg

Daroach is the leader of the Squeak Squad. He dresses in a red cape and hat and unlike the others, has a penchant for magic. He is the final boss of World 6 and flies around using magic attacks. He uses the Tri-Star Wand to attack (which Kirby can later use), as well as the ability to fire sheets of ice and drop bombs. He is also capable of teleporting as well. He is the only member of the Squeak Squad to not be a recurring foe, although he is fought again as the second-to-last boss in World 8.

Spinni[edit]

Spinni.jpg

Spinni is a recurring foe throughout the game. He's the quickest of the three minions and most often is setup to compete against Kirby on a track to reach the treasure chest first. His primary mode of attack is using a shuriken that he throws and a claw-like weapon. If Kirby beats him enough, he'll sometimes drop his weapon. If Kirby inhales the weapon, he'll become Animal Kirby. If he inhales the shurikens that Spinni throws, he can become Ninja Kirby.

Storo[edit]

Storo.jpg

Storo is a recurring foe throughout the game. He's the largest of the three minions and due to being slow, usually is already near the treasure chest. He uses nothing except his own strength to attack - which take up a lot of room on the battlefield. If left with no ability to use, then the only way to defeat him is to inhale the stars that he produces when he uses his hammer or jumping attack. When defeated, he is the only one of the Squeak Squad not to leave any items for Kirby to get powers from.

Doc[edit]

Doc is a recurring foe throughout the game. He is the smallest of the three minions and the only one able to fly around to get the treasure chest. He operates a UFO to fly around in and is capable of firing lasers, dropping bombs, and spray ice. His ship is very flimsy and he can be knocked out of it with only a few blows. While he's knocked out, either his abandoned UFO or laser cannon can be absorbed to become either UFO Kirby or Laser Kirby. His bombs can also be absorbed to become Bomb Kirby.

Other Appearances[edit]

Video Games[edit]

  • In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Daroach appeared as an Ace-rank Primary Spirit, and upon reaching Level 99, his Spirit could be enhanced into a Legend-rank Spirit of Dark Daroach, which had the added effect of boosting the power of fire and explosion-related attacks.
