Skorupi is a poisonous scorpion-like Pokémon that was introduced in the fourth generation games. Its evolved form is Drapion.

Information[edit]

Skorupi resembles a purple scorpion with a clawed tail and claw-like horns on its head. They usually live in arid lands, where they bury themselves in sand to wait for unsuspecting prey. A Skorupi will grip its prey with its tail claws and immediately inject its poison, tenaciously hanging on until the poison takes effect. Skorupi is actually capable of surviving a year without food.

It evolves into Drapion at Level 40.

Appearances[edit]

Mainstream Games[edit]

In Pokémon: Diamond, Pearl and Platinum Versions, Skorupi was found only at the Great Marsh. In HeartGold and SoulSilver, they could appear in the Wasteland area if enough Rock objects were present.

Other Games[edit]

In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Darkness, Skorupi could be recruited at the Quicksand Cave and the first five floors of Quicksand Pit. In Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia, it was found at Haruba Desert and Hippowdon Temple. In Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs, it appeared at Oblivia Ruins and the Light Temple. In Pokémon Rumble, it was found at Eternal Tower. Skorupi also appeared in PokéPark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure at the Granite Zone as the guard to the ruins as well as at the Meeting Place.

Other Appearances[edit]

In Other Media[edit]

  • In the anime, Skorupi was most notably shown as one of Aaron's Pokémon during the Sinnoh series, although it has not been shown in battle and has usually been shown in a pet-like manner. Other Skorupi have made more minor appearances in other episodes.
  • In the Pokémon Adventure manga, a Skorupi was featured in a chapter of the Diamond/Pearl arc in which Platinum attempted to catch one at the Great Marsh, although she ultimately failed.

Trivia[edit]

  • Its name is a truncation of "scorpion", particularly its Japanese spelling.
