Mothim is a honey-loving moth-like Pokémon that was introduced in the fourth generation games. It is one of Burmy's two possible evolved forms, with the alternate form being Wormadam.

Information[edit]

Burmy evolves at Level 20, with male Burmy becoming Mothim while female Burmy evolve into Wormadam. Mothim do not keep nests, and instead they fly over fields and mountains to constantly search for floral honey. They love the honey of flowers, but instead of making honey for themselves, Mothim usually opt to steal honey from Combee at night.

Appearances[edit]

Mainstream Games[edit]

Mothim has not been found in the wild and can only be obtained by evolving a Burmy.

Other Games[edit]

In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Darkness, Mothim could be recruited at Sky Stairway and Mt. Mistral. In Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia, they were found at Oil Field Hideout. In Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs, it appeared at Mitonga Road, Forest Temple and Odd Temple. Mothim also appeared in Pokémon Rumble at the Silent Forest.

Other Appearances[edit]

Other Media[edit]

  • In the Pokémon anime, Cheryl caught a Burmy and trained it quickly to evolve into a Mothim. She then used the Mothim for several episodes of the Sinnoh series to help her find the Amber Castle while accompanied by Ash's group. Mothim have also made other minor appearances.
  • In the Pokémon Adventures manga, Mothim was only featured alongside a Vespiquen as the Pokémon of a pair of troublesome Cue Balls during the Diamond/Pearl arc, being beaten by Diamond and Riley.

Trivia[edit]

  • Its name is a combination of "moth" and "him" (likely due to it being male).
