Iggylybuff is the baby form of Jigglypuff that was introduced in the second generation Pokémon games.

Information[edit]

Igglybuff has a soft and bouncy body that has been noted to feel like a marshmallow. It becomes nearly impossible to stop when it begins bouncing around. It usually chooses to travel by bouncing as opposing to walking on its short and stubby legs. Igglybuff's vocal chords are not fully developed yet due to it being a baby, so it usually hurts its throat when it sings too much. It usually gargles water from a fresh stream. Igglybuff have been known to slowly turn pink when they sing with all their might.

Its body also emits a fragrance which calms the emotions of its foes. Igglybuff evolves into Jigglypuff when it levels up after reaching its maximum amount of happiness.

Appearances[edit]

Mainstream Games[edit]

Igglybuff can normally be acquired solely through breeding a Jigglypuff or Wigglytuff. In Diamond, Pearl and Platinum, it is among the Pokémon that could be randomly placed in the Trophy Garden by Mr. Backlot on a daily basis and even though is only found rarely. Igglybuff can also be caught at the Amity Meadow course of the Pokéwalker, from which it can be transferred to HeartGold and SoulSilver.

Other Games[edit]

In Pokémon Puzzle Challenge, Igglybuff could be hatched from an egg and then could be chosen as a playable avatar. In Pokémon Stadium 2, both Igglybuff and Cleffa were featured in the Streaming Stampede minigame where they had to count the Pokémon running past. Igglybuff appeared at the Beach in Pokémon Channel every evening. In Pokémon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire, it could be obtained by hatching one from an egg. In Pokémon Trozei!, it appeared at Endless Level 67, Forever Level 17, Pair Trozei and Mr. Who's Den.

In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red and Blue Rescue Teams, it could be recruited at the tenth through thirteenth floors of Western Cave and the fortieth through forty-sixth floors of Joyous Tower, while in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Space and Time it was found at the first nineteen basement floors of Marine Resort. An Igglybuff was also featured as the main character of the "Igglybuff the Prodigy" chapter of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Sky, with this Igglybuff being the young form of Guild Master Wigglytuff. Igglybuff also appeared in Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs at Lapras Beach.

Other Appearances[edit]

A pair of Igglybuff twins were later featured in a Johto episode of the anime, where they were preparing for a concert with their trainer and had to deal with a jealous Jigglypuff. Otherwise, Igglybuff has made mostly minor appearances.
