The Geru (also known as Lizardmen) is a type of reptilian creature that was featured as a type of enemy in Zelda II: The Adventure of Link.

Information[edit]

Geru are skilled combatants that appear on the overworld in the areas around Kasuto. They come in three colors that signify their strength and type of weapon. Yellow Geru wield spears and are the weakest type, Red Geru use maces that tear through shields, and Blue Geru use spears and are the strongest type. Their attack type was identical to Iron Knuckle's, but they never appeared in dungeons. Geru are deeply rooted in the region, and the valley south of Nabooru Village is guarded by Geru who live along the walls and throw rocks down on unsuspecting foes below. They also are the primary foes encountered along the volcanic Path of Fire leading to the Great Palace. One Geru was responsible for kidnapping a child from Darunia Village and was hiding out south of the Maze Palace until Link defeated it.

Trivia[edit]

  • The Geru are commonly confused with Lizalfos, who are similar reptilian warriors. It is likely that the Geru inspired the Lizalfos, but there is no actual evidence that they are the same creature.
