Finneon is a small fish-like Pokémon that was introduced in the fourth generation games. Its evolved form is Lumineon.

Information[edit]

Finneon has two tail flines which flutter while it swims, which has earned it the nickname "Beautifly of the Sea". Once the patterns on its tails have been exposed to sunlight for a length of time, they will vividly shine in the darkness. This is because the line running down its side stores sunlight. Finneon evolves into Lumineon at Level 31.

Appearances[edit]

Mainstream Games[edit]

In Pokémon: Diamond, Pearl and Platinum Versions, Finneon could be fished with the Good Rod at Routes 205, 218, 219, 220 and 221, Valley Windworks, Fuego Ironworks, Canalave City and Iron Island. It could be caught through the Pokéwalker at the Stormy Beach route and then transferred to HeartGold/SoulSilver. In Black and White, it was commonly fished at Routes 17 and 18 and P2 Laboratory.

In Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia, it appeared at Puel Sea. In Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs, it was found at Canal Ruins. In My Pokémon Ranch, it could be obtained from Hayley in a random trade and could be transferred to Diamond/Pearl (as well as Platinum in Japan). A Finneon also appeared in Pokémon Rumble at Bright Beach.

Other Appearances[edit]

In Other Media[edit]

  • In the Pokémon anime, Finneon was featured as one of Zoey's Pokémon and later evolved into a Lumineon. Other Finneon have made primarily minor appearances.
  • In the Pokémon Adventures manga, Finneon has only been shown belonging to a trainer in the Platinum arc.

Trivia[edit]

  • Its name is a simple combination of "fin" and "neon".
