Factor 5 is a former Nintendo second party company. While working with Nintendo, they worked in conjunction with LucasArts. They later partnered with Sony Computer Entertainment instead.

History[edit]

Factor 5 was founded in Cologne, Germany in 1987. It was founded by five people which inspired the company's name.

In 1994, they moved to San Rafael, CA. They became Nintendo's exclusive partner. Along with producing games, they also developed other technology including MusyX and DivX For Games SDK. At some point in the mid-2000s, they began working primarily for Sony instead, until in 2009 they reached bankruptcy.
