Bosses[edit]

  • Margoma

Margoma acted as the boss of the Woodlands and was faced at the end of the Forest Temple, being the game's first area boss. Margoma had a large disc-shaped body with multiple disc-shaped segments. In its top segment was an eyeball that was usually kept hidden and surrounded by retractable spikes. The segments of its body also had retractable spikes. Margoma would roll around and perform spin attacks in attempts to crush others. However, it could be tricked into ramming into a wall, which would briefly stun it. When stunned, a bomb could be tossed into the hole on its top segment. This would expose its eye to attacks. After being struck enough times, Margoma added another segment to its body, requiring a full totem for the Tri Force Heroes to reach it. More strikes would cause its body to be destroyed, leaving behind just its eyeball, which would bounce around in a last-ditch effort to defeat its enemies. HItting the eyeball enough times would destroy it.

Margoma was notable for being very similar to Margomill, a boss from A Link Between Worlds. Smaller enemies of Margoma's presumed species also appear in the game, known as Mini-Margos.

Arrghus acted as the boss of the Riverside area and was faced at the end of the Water Temple. Arrghus was similar to past depictions in that was protected by a barrier of smaller creatures (this time large eyeballs surrounded by liquid) that have to be disposed of before attacking its eye. Arrghus first attacks from the center of a pool of water. After its first barrier is destroyed, it drains the pool and begins attacking more actively with a second barrier set. After the second set is destroyed, Arrghus moves around and attacks with inky blasts. Its eye must be attacked to stun it, at which point it can be freely attacked with the sword. After being hit enough times, it is destroyed.

Moldorm acted as the boss of the Volcano area and was faced at the end of the Fire Temple. Like past versions of Moldorm, it attacked simply by moving around the area and trying to strike the player, and it was damaged by attacking its tail. It targetted one Tri Force Hero at a time, with its eyes emitting a glow matching the tunic of its current target. It switched targets whenever it made contact with the current target. Its tail would also retract whenever it switched targets, making it tricker to hit. Throughout the battle, Moldorm would progressively raise its tail into the air so that a totem was required to strike it. In its final phase, Moldorm stopped targeting individual heroes and started moving around erratically in random directions. After being hit some more, it would be destroyed.

  • Blizzagia

Blizzagia acted as the boss of the Ice Cavern area and was faced at the end of the Ice Temple. It was a blue serpentine creature with icy scales and an icy tail. It wore a protective mask. It initially attacked by coming out of one of several caves and attempting to snap at a hero. Its mask could be damaged by striking it with the hammer. Eventually, Blizzagia would freeze over the ground of the area to make it slippery for the heroes. After its mask was destroyed, it slithered along the ground freely and kept attempting to snap at heroes. Its head could be attacked with any weapon, ultimately destroying it.

This enemy appears to be intended as an icy counterpart to Volvagia. Its Japanese name is simply "Ice Volvagia", while its English name is a combination of "blizzard" and "Volvagia".

  • The Lady's Pets/Tri Furies

The Tri Furies were a set of monstrous pets that The Lady summoned to dispose of the Tri Force Heroes at The Lady's Lair, the final level of the Fortress area. The three monsters were fought one at a time, and each of them was a more powerful version of one of the previous bosses. The first pet was a stronger version of Margoma, with the ability to shoot gusts of wind and bearing a purple crystal instead of an eyeball. The second pet was a stronger version of Moldorm, which had flames surrounding its head. The third and final pet was a stronger version of Arrghus, which was surrounded by two flaming eyeballs and two that were encased in ice. All of the pets were fought and destroyed in similar manners as the original monsters.

  • Stalchampion

Stalchampion was the boss of The Dunes area and was battled at the end of the Desert Temple. It was a large Stalfos warrior that had a mace in place of its left arm. It would attack by striking with its mace, throwing it as a boomerang or by leaping into the air and causing a shockwave upon landing. To battle the Stalchampion, the heroes had to catch the Stalchampion offguard and strike it with a sword or boomerang. This would cause its body to temporarily crumple, at which point the red core at the center of his body could be attacked until its body reformed. The mace would also roll around whenever its body was in pieces. After being hit enough times, the Stalchampion left is body in pieces. Instead, the Stalchampion absorbed its core into its skull, which then floated around and tried to attack the heroes. The heroes had to strike the skull out of the air, at which point it could be attacked and eventually destroyed.

  • Prismantus

Prismantus was the boss of The Ruins area and was battled at the end of the Grim Temple. It was a being that consisted of an eyeball with three protruding sides. Each side bore a differently-colored bulb, and the heroes had to attack the bulb matching their tunic/hair color in order to stun it and leave it open to attack. Prsimantus initially attacked by simply moving around, but later changed up its attack pattern and attacked with powerful beams of energy. Regardless, it was eventually destroyed.

The Lady was the final boss of the game, who was faced at the Sky Temple, at the end of the Sky Realm. She was battled in multiple phases.
