Boos in Luigi's Mansion

In Luigi's Mansion and its sequels, there are numerous Boos that hide and can be captured by Luigi. Catching all of them is usually an optional sidequest, but there are some that are required to progress the story. Each Boo has its own name, which is a pun or some other type of wordplay that utilizes "Boo" in some way, and each one also usually has some dialogue that references its namesake. This article covers all of the Boos appearing in each game, not counting King Boo.

Multiple Games[edit]

There are some Boo names that are reused in multiple games, implying that those Boos are the same characters reappearing. For Dark Moon, several names were reused in the Japanese version, but the English localization changed them to new names, which confused the matter. However, the 3DS remake of the original game did later change the English name of one Boo to match the name used in Dark Moon (Boolldog, originally Booligan). Luigi's Mansion 3 would later reuse names in the English localization as well.

The following are characters whose Japanese or English names appear in all three games:

  • Booigi (known as MamBoo in Dark Moon)
  • Boogie (known as Boofon in Dark Moon)
  • Boolldog (known as Booligan in the Gamecube version of Luigi's Mansion)
  • GumBoo (known as Boogie Woogie in Dark Moon)

The following are only in the first two games, and with a different English name in Dark Moon:

  • Booffant/Boo Boo
  • Kung Boo/ComBooter
