The Banana Coin (originally known as the Banana Bunch Coin) is a type of currency utilized by the Kongs that has been featured as a collectible item in several games of the Donkey Kong series. It is a yellow coin that, depending on the appearance, features the image of either a single banana or a banana bunch. Within their appearances, Banana Coins can be found throughout levels and can be collected by the player to spend on any of the Kongs' services within the particular game. Only Kongs accept Banana Coins, as other characters accept different currencies such as the Kremkoin or the Bear Coin instead.

They were introduced in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest and have also been used within Donkey Kong Land 2, Donkey Kong 64, the Game Boy Color remake of the original Donkey Kong Country (for use in Candy's Challenge), DK: Jungle Climber (where five were found in each level, and they could be used to unlock extra levels), Donkey Kong Country Returns and Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze. In Donkey Kong 64, there were five different colored variations of the Banana Coin. They all equated to the same amount, but each type of Banana Coin could only be collected by the Kong associated with the corresponding color. That game also featured 5-Banana Coins, which could be uncovered from dirt piles using the shockwave attack that could be gained from the Banana Fairy Princess.

A sticker of a Banana Coin (using art from Donkey Kong 64) appears in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
