Archeops is an ancient bird fossil Pokémon that was introduced in the fifth generation games. It is the evolved form of Archen.

Information[edit]

Archeops evolves from Archen at Level 37. Unlike its previous form, Archeops is capable of flight. However, they run better than than fly. Archeops could run at speeds comparable to those of automobiles in order to catch their prey. They also always had a running start before they took flight. Archeops was also known to be an intelligent species, and multiple Archeops were willing to cooperate in order to catch prey.

It is apparently extinct in the modern day, but Archeops can still be evolved from Archen which have been revived from Plume Fossils.

Appearances[edit]

Mainstream Games[edit]

In Pokémon: Black and White Versions, Archeops can only be obtained through evolution.

Other Games[edit]

In Pokémon Rumble Blast, Archeops appeared as the boss of the treetops of World Axle's second basement floor.

Other Appearances[edit]

Other Media[edit]

  • In the Pokémon anime, one episode featured a revived Archen which evolved into an Archeops in order to reach fruits at the top of the vine, as it gained the ability to fly through the evolution. This was its first meal since it was revived from a Plume Fossil, and although Team Rocket soon targeted it, a horde of Archeops were soon attracted which the Archeops left with.

Trivia[edit]

  • It and Archen are based on the archaeopteryx, which is earliest bird to be discovered in real life. Archeops's name seems to be a combination of that with "ops" (which is the suffix used for several dinosaur names such as the triceratops).
