Jumpluff is a floating Pokémon equipped with cotton-like spores that was introduced in the second generation Pokémon games. It is the third and final form in Hoppip's evolutionary line.
Information[edit]
Jumpluff evolves from Skiploom at Level 27. They catch the wind and use their cotton-like spores to float on it, even across the world. Jumpluff usually ride warm southern winds to the sea and then float to foreign lands. They descend to the ground when they encounter cold air as they float. Jumpluff tries to spread its spores throughout the world in order to spread out their offspring. They always have control over their trajectory, even in the fiercest winds.
Appearances[edit]
Mainstream Games[edit]
Jumpluff usually can only be obtained through evolution. In Pokémon: HeartGold and SoulSilver Versions, Jumpluff could appear in the Safari Zone's Marshland area if enough Plains or Water objects were placed there.
Other Games[edit]
In Pokémon Trozei!, it appeared at Endless Level 3, Endless Level 14, Forever Level 52 and Mr. Who's Den. It could only be obtained through evolution in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red and Blue Rescue Teams, while in Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Darkness it could be recruited at Sky Stairway and the first nineteen floors of Mt. Mistral. A pair of non-playable Jumpluff did appear in the first Mystery Dungeon where one enlisted Shiftry and later the player to rescue the other from the Silent Chasm, and afterwards the two Jumpluff stayed at Pokémon Square. In Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs, Jumpluff was found at Mitonga Road. It also appeared in PokéPark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure at the Granite Zone.
Other Appearances[edit]
Other Media[edit]
- In the Pokémon anime, one episode of the Johto series featured an Officer Jenny who used a Jumpluff to dust for fingerprints after Ash's Pokémon egg was stolen. Jumpluff have appeared throughout the series since but in primarily minor appearances, and one episode had a trainer named Tammy who used three Jumpluff primarily as a cheerleading squad.
- In the Pokémon Adventures manga, Eusine owned a Jumpluff in the Gold/Silver/Crystal arc that he used to float around. During the FireRed/LeafGreen arc, Orm of Team Rocket also owned one that he used in battle.
