Wii Sports is a game that comes with every Wii except those sold in Japan. The game is a collection of sports simulations designed to demonstrate the Wii controllers' motion sensing abilities.

Gameplay

As mentioned above, the game is a collection of five different games. Each games uses a character's Mii and up to four people can participate. As a certain Mii wins more, they can turn Pro. A Pro is given more cosmetic options as well as having a bigger crowd watch.

Other features include a training mode for the player to practice and a fitness mode. Fitness mode calculates a player's fitness age by asking them to perform three tasks.

Tennis

The computer controls the Miis, making them go towards the ball. The player must swing the remote to hit the ball. Up to four players can play simultaneously in Doubles mode.

Baseball

One player bats while the other pitches. The pitcher can choose between different pitches. The game lasts three innings except when a player leads by five runs by the end of an inning. Only two people can play Baseball together.

Golf

Players swing the remote the same way they would swing a golf club. Wind speed and direction should be taken into account and the ball will hook or slice if hit to hard. Up to four players can play. The course designs are taken from Golf.

Boxing

Using both the remote and nuchuk attachment, the player boxes another Mii. A jab lets the player punch while raising both hands lets the player block. Moving the controllers backward, forward, or to the side causes the Mii to lean appropriately.

Each Mii is given a health meter. Each punch takes away some health. Once the health meter is empty, the player is knocked down. A knocked down player gets up with their health partially refilled. After being knocked down a few times, the player is knocked out. Up to two people can play.

Bowling

Players swing back the ball while holding the trigger button and swing it forward while releasing the trigger button to throw the ball. Spin can be put on the ball by tilting the remote.
