Swanky Kong is Donkey Kong Island's local game show host. He has run a variety of minigames over the years.

Background

Swanky Kong first appeared in Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest, where he ran a Bonus Bonanza game show in various areas of Crocodile Island. He was aided by Candy Kong, who served as his lovely assistant. In this game Swanky wore a 70's-style get-up, complete with an aphro.

In the original version of Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie's Double Trouble, Swanky ran Swanky's Sideshow, a chain of target-hitting minigames house within circus tents. Swanky now had the get-up of a carnival barker. However, the Game Boy Advance version retconned that Swanky had ended Swanky's Sideshow prior to the game. Instead, he had a series of Virtual Reality centers known as Swanky's Dash, with a Banana Bird as the prize to the lucky winner.

Swanky hasn't been seen since, but he's sure to be whipping up some new games somewhere on Donkey Kong Island.

Trivia

• A Swanky's Sideshow tent along with an advertisement for some game called the "Donkey Cannon" was seen on Donkey Kong's filed in Mario Superstar Baseball.
• Swanky's sprite is based directly off of Donkey Kong's, leading to speculation that they are brothers.
