Shroomish prefers damp places and usually lives in the dark depths of forests. They keep still under the shade of fallen leaves during the day. It feeds on compost made of rotted, fallen leaves as well as damp, composted soil usually after a rainfall. If Shroomish sense danger, they shake their bodies to scatter spores from their head which are toxic enough to make trees and weeds wilt. Inhaling the poison will cause pain all over.

It evolves into Breloom at Level 23.

A Shroomish could also be obtained randomly in ''[[My Pokémon Ranch]]'' as one of the potential trades with [[Hayley]], and it could be transferred to ''Diamond''/''Pearl'' (as well as ''Platinum'' in Japan) afterwards. *Shroomish have made various appearances in the Pokémon anime. One episode featured Ash's friends saving an abandoned mansion that several Shroomish inhabited. In a later episode, Team Rocket angered a group of Shroomish by stealing their fruits, and they evolved into Breloom out of anger.

=Trivia=

*Its name is a combination of "shroom" (which is short for "mushroom") with "-ish" (simply meaning "like").
