Goroh presumably returned to his criminal activities when the F-Zero races were closed, but returned to the race track when the F-Zero races began again as the F-Zero X tournament. He's raced two more years since then. He lost both Grand Prix tournaments to Captain Falcon. During the second one, he tried to corner Captain Falcon in Red Canyon. He made a deal that if Falcon couldn't beat him to the finish line - in a valley full of falling rocks, Goroh would get Falcon's ship. Captain Falcon ended up winning and later defeated Samurai Goroh in the Grand Prix. That was also the same year that his son, Dai Goroh, first joined the Grand Prix. People have already noted that Dai may be a better swordsman and pilot than his father, despite being much younger.

Samurai Goroh's [[F-Zero GX]] movie, ''Moonlight Outlaw; Samurai Goroh'', shows him racing in a simulation race against a simulation opponent. He then slashes his sword around making the simulation opponent crash. He continues on until he stops to let [[Silver Neelson]] cross the street. But he doesn't wait for him to finish and races onward knocking him over. However, Silver somehow catches up to Goroh and smacks him in the head with his cane.
