Pokédex entries specifically compare Regice to having been made during an ice age from Antarctic ice that is the same kind found at the South Pole. The Regis were sealed away long ago due to the ancient people (specifically the ones of [[Hoenn]]) fearing "it". Regice is also said to have slept in a glacier for thousands of years. Regice controls frigid air of -328 degrees Fahrenheits, so things will be frozen solid just by going near it. Even though its body is made of ice, it cannot be melted, even by lava.
