Rauru was a wise man who functioned as the Sage of Light. He was the last of the ancient sages whom had built the Temple of Time to protect the entrance to the Sacred Realm. He dwelt in the Temple of Light, which was located at the center of the Sacred Realm.

Background

After Link pulled the Master Sword and was put into a seven-year slumber, Rauru kept him safe within the Chamber of Sages, the only place safe from Ganondorf. When Link finally awoke, Rauru told him of all that had changed. He granted Link the Light Medallion and sent him out to seek the five new sages.

When all the sages were gathered, Rauru worked with them to create a rainbow bride to Ganon's Castle and later to seal Ganondorf in the Dark Realm. Rauru was not seen with the other sages in the ending, and his fate remains unknown.
