Poo is one of the heroes of Earthbound. He is one of the Chosen Four, along with Ness, Paula, and Jeff.

Background

Earthbound

Poo was prince of Dalaam, a country to the east. After completing his Mu Training, Poo's master told Poo about a message from Eternity and that he was destined to join a boy named Ness in a battle against great evil, Giyfas. His master then teleported Poo to Ness, where he joined the group..

After that, they go to the museum and discover information about a pyramid, thanks to a tiny ruby that Poo had. They go to the pyramid, and after they retrieve the Hawk Eye, Poo went off with an Old Man who promised to teach him the way of the Starstorm. After some time, Poo returned having learned the Starstorm, to help his friends out against Master Puke. He then went on to journey with the rest of the group to defeat Giygas. After that, he used PSI Farewell to go back home.

Poo himself never appears, but there are references to him in New Pork City.

Abilities

Due to Poo's martial arts training, he can do as much damage unarmed as the other characters do with weapons. Poo is accomplished in PSI and can use his psychic abilities to attack and heal. Poo also has the ability to transform into the form of an enemy.

Trivia

• Poo appears as a trophy is Super Smash Bros. Melee. Additionally, Ness's moveset in the Super Smash Bros. games contains some abilities that only Poo and/or Paula could learn in Earthbound, making Ness into somewhat of an amalgamation of the three characters. This includes Poo's ultimate attack, PK Starstorm, which appeared in Super Smash Bros. Brawl as Ness's Final Smash. He is mentioned in the trophy for PK Starstorm as having taught it to Ness.
• A sticker of Poo appears in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
