Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team is one of the games in the first set of the Pokémon Mystery Dungron series. The different versions were made to increase interactivity between gamers.

Story

The player is woken by a Pokémon one day to discover that he has been transformed into a Pokémon. The player has no memories beyond the fact that he or she once lived as a human.

The world has been devastated by an unusual number of natural disasters lately and the pair are asked to help a Butterfree find her child, a Caterpie. After the rescue, the two form the Rescue Team.

Gameplay

The game consists of a series of missions. The player can accept a mission, assemble a team, and carry out the mission. A successful mission will increase the teams rank as well as earn them a reward. Sometimes, there will be a chance to recruit a new Pokémon to the rescue team.

Connectivity

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team can connect with Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team with the Wonder Mail feature. Using Wonder Mail, players can exchange missions.

Version Differences

Each version of the game has several exclusive Pokémon. Also, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Blue Rescue Team has a few features that take advantage of the DS's two screens.

Legacy

Sequels

These games were followed up by a second pair of games: Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time' and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Darkness.
