'''Plusle''' is a cheering electrical Pokémon that was introduced in the third generation games. It has no evolutionary lines but is complemented by [[Minun]], with these Pokémon obliging the introduction of the double battle system.

=Information=

Plusle is a Pokémon  that loves to cheer on other Pokémon and usually acts as a cheerleader for its partners. It releases electrical energy from its paws and flashes sparks from all over its body while cheering for others. Plusle usually shorts out its body in order to create a crackling noise and pompoms for cheering when their partners put out good efforts in battle. They will cry loudly if the Pokémon they support loses. Plusle usually climbs telephone poles to absorb electricity.

It is a Pokémon that is primarily useful for double battles due to its large amount of supportive moves as well as its Plus ability boosting its special attack when paired with Minun or another Pokémon with the Minus ability.

In ''[[Pokémon: Ruby and Sapphire Versions|Pokémon: Ruby, Sapphire]]'' and ''[[Pokémon: Emerald Version|Emerald Versions]]'', Plusle was primarily found at Route 110. It was rare in ''Ruby'' and ''Emerald'' but more common in ''Sapphire''. In ''Emerald'', the player could also trade a [[Volbeat]] for one at Fortree City. In ''[[Pokémon: Diamond and Pearl Versions|Diamond, Pearl]]'' and ''[[Pokémon: Platinum Version|Platinum]]'', Plusle was among the Pokémon that could be placed in the Trophy Garden by Mr. Backlot by random on a daily basis.

In ''[[Pokémon: HeartGold and SoulSilver Versions|HeartGold and SoulSilver]]'', Plusle could appear uncommonly at Routes 1, 2, 5, 7, 8, 11, 14, 15, 16, 17, 29, 33, 36, 37, 38, 39, 46 and 48 and National Park when the Hoenn Sound was playing over the radio. In ''[[Pokémon: Black and White Versions|Black]]'', Plusle could appear at Route 6 in swarms, with Minun replacing it in ''White''.

In ''[[Pokémon Colosseum]]'', [[Duking]] had a treasured Plusle that was captured by [[Miror B.]] and his henchmen. After it was rescued by the protagonist, Duking let the player keep it, and it could be traded with any of the third generation games. In ''[[Pokémon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire]]'', it could be hatched from an egg, and a Plusle also blocked the entrance to the Poké Mart with Minun at the Sapphire Field. In ''[[Pokémon Trozei!]]'', it was found at Secret Storage 16, Endless Level 16, Pair Trozei and Mr. Who's Den. In ''[[Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red and Blue Rescue Teams|Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team]]'', Plusle could be recruited at the fourth through fifth floors of Thunderwave Cave, the seventh through nineteenth floors of Lightning Field and the fifth through eighth floors of Joyous Tower, while in ''Blue Rescue Team'' it could only be recruited through a Wonder Mail mission in which a Plusle was escorted to a Minun on the fifth floor of Thunderwave Cave. In ''[[Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Darkness|Explorers of Time and Darkness]]'' it was recruitable at the first five floors of Amp Plains.

Plusle was also available as the starting partner Pokémon in ''[[Pokémon Ranger]]'' if the player starts as the female [[Solana]], being found in a box. If the player was the male [[Lunick]] instead, Solana's Plusle would also bond with him after the main storyline was completed.

*In the anime, a Plusle and Minun belonging to a lighthouse keeper named Thatcher initially appeared in an episode of the Hoenn series, and they reappeared in a later episode where the Plusle and Minun were being trained as cheerleaders. Plusle and Minun were also used as main Pokémon actors in a movie being filmed in one episode, and a different pair acted as comic relief in the actual seventh Pokémon movie. Solana and Ursula have also been shown with their own Plusle (Ursula also owning Minun) in the Sinnoh series, and Dawn was shown to have a childhood fear of both Plusle and Minun.
*In the ''Pokémon Adventures'' manga, one chapter of the ''Ruby''/''Sapphire'' arc introduced a Plusle and Minun that initially lived at the Abandoned Ship, and Ruby and Sapphire wound up teaming up with them to fight off [[Team Magma]] agents. The same pair later returned to train with Ruby and Sapphire in double battles under [[Juan]] at Mirage Island, and they were used by the pair for the arc's final battles, although it is unknown whether or not Ruby and Sapphire kept them.

*Unused data for Plusle and Minun as playable characters was found in the coding for ''[[Super Smash Bros. Brawl]]'', indicating that they were set to be a playable team but were cut from the game at some stage.

*Its name is a play on "plus" (due to its ability and so that it and Minun could contrast with each other) and may also be a play on "pulse" (due to its electric abilities).
