The Mushroom Kingdom is the primary setting of the Mario series.
Information
The Mushroom Kingdom is quite possibly the largest kingdom in the Mushroom World. It is ruled by Princess Peach (and the mysterious Mushroom King who has never made an appearance). The kingdom is reasonably vast and the citizens are for the most part, Toads. Of course, there are other non-Toad villages, such as the Koopa Village east of Toad Town.
The kingdom exists in what is certainly a constant state of peril and that is because King Bowser is quite fond of the Mushroom Kingdom. So fond in fact that he makes kidnapping the princess his profession. And he would have long got away with it not for the saviors of the Mushroom Kingdom, Mario and Luigi.
