Mario's Super Picross was a puzzle game for the Super Nintendo. A sequel to Mario's Picross, it's sometimes mistakenly called Mario's Picross 2 which is a Game Boy sequel. It was one of the games compatible with the SNES Mouse.

Gameplay

The player is playing against the clock to solve each puzzle. Rather than simple black and white tiles, the player has a chisel which is used to make indentations in the stone. If the player makes a mistakes, they lose time. Each time to make a mistake, the amount of time lost doubles.

The player also has the option to play as Wario. When playing as Wario, the timer counts up from zero. Getting the wrong tile isn't penalized, but the player isn't alerted if they get it wrong. This makes playing as Wario harder.

The puzzles start out easy with Japanese characters and Greek letters and get progressively harder.

Legacy

The game's engine was reused for Picross NP and some of the puzzles were made available for download on Picross DS.
