'''Machamp''' is a four-armed musclebound Pokémon that was introduced in the first generation Pokémon games. It is the final form of [[Machop]]'s evolutionary line.

=Information=

Machamp evolves from [[Machoke]] after being traded to another trainer. The most conspicuous difference between these forms are the two extra arms that Machamp sports. All four arms react more quickly than it can think, allowing Machamp to execute multiple punches at once. It uses all of its arms for awesome punches that can send opponents flying over the horizon, and one arm alone apparently has the strength to move mountains. Other times it will use all four of its arms to pin a victim down and then toss them over the horizon. It can also swing its arms around to bombard foes with a ceaseless wave of punches and chops from various angles.

They tend to leap into action without thinking. Although it can toss anything aside, it tends to get its arms tangled if it tries any work that requires dexterity and care. Machamp is still known as the Pokémon that can execute any type of martial arts and is said to be capable of launching a thousand punches within two seconds. Machamp's fighting spirit flares up when facing a dangerous opponent.

Machamp can primarily be obtained through evolution throughout the series. The only exception is ''[[Pokémon: Yellow Version]]'', where a trainer on Route 5 will trade a Machoke to the player for a [[Cubone]]. The Machoke evolves into Machamp immediately following the trade.

Machamp can only be obtained through evolution in ''[[Pokémon Pinball]]'', ''[[Pokémon Pinball: Ruby & Sapphire]]'' and ''[[Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red and Blue Rescue Teams]]''. Machamp also appeared within the ''Pokémon''-based [[e-Reader]] series. In the "Machop at Work" minigame, if the Machop destroys all 100 of the falling rocks, it evolves into Machoke and then immediately into Machamp. In ''[[Pokémon Trozei!]]'', Machamp could be obtained at Phobos Walker, Trozei Battle and Mr. Who's Den.

In ''[[Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Darkness]]'', Machamp could be found at Aegis Cave. In ''[[Pokémon Ranger]]'', it appeared at Krokka Tunnel. It was also found in ''[[Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia]]'' at Oil Field Hideout. Machamp appeared in ''[[Pokémon Rumble]]'' at Rocky Cave. Within ''[[PokéPark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure]]'', Machamp was found at the Cavern Zone.

==Other Media==

*Machamp has appeared in several episodes of the Pokémon anime. It has been shown as one of [[Giovanni]]'s Pokémon which he lent to Jessie and James when he had them watch his gym in one episode. Another episode had Ash's [[Snorlax]] defeating one in a sumo contest.
*In the Pokémon Adventures manga, Machamp is one of [[Blue]]'s main Pokémon. It evolved from Machoke while Red was looking after it after the two had accidentally switched Pokémon. Later arcs have shown both [[Bruno]] and [[Chuck]] using Machamp in their lineups.

*Its name is a combination of "macho" (meaning masculinity and toughness) and "champion" (which reflects its superiority amongst both Pokémon and martial artists).
