Trouble arose when Crimea was invaded by Daein, and Elincia wound up on the run. She had been separated from Geoffrey and the others, so her former retainers went underground with Lucia and Geoffrey posing as merchants and Bastian a street performer, using the cellars of Castle Delbray as their secret meeting place. They worried for their lost princess until [[Ranulf]] brought word that Elincia was returning with a Crimean Liberation Army to reclaim Crimea. Lucia and Bastian set out with some troops to rendezvous with them, and they eventually spotted the Crimean forces by Riven Bridge in "Chapter 23: The Great Bridge".
