Jack Levin is a pilot in the F-Zero series and former pop-group member.

Background[edit]

Growing up, Jack was always considered quite the pretty boy. His father left them behind when Jack was only four, forcing him to take on a lot of responsibility when his mother became permanently bedridden due to the Gonskie Flu when Jack was only nine. He spent most of his childhood in poverty until he joined a pop music group. With this came a lot of fame, which only increased when he became a F-Zero pilot.

His picture was submitted by his sisters to the F-Zero officials who were looking for a young face to attract younger audiences. His popularity only increased as he became a pilot, leading to the release of action figures, trading carts, and holographic Halloween costumes all in his likeness. His public appearances are always filled with hordes of female fans. His popularity tends to disgust his fellow F-Zero pilots. Despite his good looks and popularity, people rarely talk about his actual racing skill.

GP Legend[edit]

In the anime-based games, Jack Levin is a member of the Elite Mobile Task Force but otherwise has a similar personality to the games. He is both a rival and later close friend of Rick Wheeler.

In the Story Mode of F-Zero GP Legend, Jack is depressed that he can never beat Rick in a race so Dr. Stewart challenges him to a race to cheer him up. He is still depressed after the battle but they are then called to Silence by Jody Summer to pursue Micheal Chain, but afterwards he becomes concerned when Jody becomes obsessed with finding Blood Falcon. He accuses her of getting too close to her work like she always tells Rick not to but offers to let her go if she beats them in a race.

Jack then competes in the big race at Big Blue and wins in his story, overcoming both Rick and Zoda. Beating them causes Jack to regain his confidence and will to race.

Astro Robin[edit]

  • Number: 14
  • Creator: Team Lightning Bolt
  • Engine: SS-C503-LVx2
  • Weight: 1050kg
  • Body: B
  • Boost: D
  • Grip: A

The Astro Robin was manufactured by Team Lightning Bolt, a famous team from F-Zero's old guard. It was designed to be lightweight but with a strong body, which inevitably led to a lack of boost power, but with an extremely well designed maneuvering system. It's been modified more since Jack Levin has become richer. One notable modification was for his female fans, which was the installation of several micro-cameras that broadcast Jack from all angles during the race.

Other Appearances[edit]

Video Games[edit]

  • In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Jack Levin appeared as an Ace-rank Primary Spirit with the added effect of a boosting a player fighter's speed. When fought against in a Spirit battle, Levin's Spirit would possess Ken in a battle where he would gain a sudden Final Smash early and also be joined by three female Wii Fit Trainers (representing either his sisters or his fans).

Other Media[edit]

  • Jack Levin appears as one of the main characters in the F-Zero GP Legend anime. As mentioned above, his personality is similar to the games although he is also a member of the Elite Mobile Task Force and Rick Wheeler's rival and best friend. One episode shows he had a shaky background where he was known as the Death God of Thunder and spent his nights racing through the streets. Micheal Chain later tries to use this knowledge to get Jack to join his gang, but Jack ultimately stays with the Task Force.

Trivia[edit]

  • In F-Zero GX his bonus movie is Jumpin' Jack Levin! The Superstar which depicts Jack at one of his normal concerts. The name of the video is a reference to "Jumpin' Jack Flash", a song by the Rolling Stones.
