A Link Between Worlds
In this game, set generations after Link the the Past, Impa was Zelda's elderly nursemaid who was descended from the seven sages and helped the princess to run affairs in the kingdom. When Link came seeking an audience with Zelda about something unbelievable that had just occurred, one skeptical guard was about to turn him away until Impa intervened. Link had witnessed a girl named Seres, another descendant of the sages, being turned into a painting by a sorcerer named Yuga. Though the story sounded unbelievable, she knew that mysterious paintings had been appearing throughout Hyrule, so she allowed the boy to speak to Zelda. During the meeting that followed, Impa suggested that Link seek out Sahasrahla for his insights on the situation. She was also surprised when Zelda chose to entrust Link with the Pendant of Courage, but she saw that as a sign that Zelda saw something in the boy and urged him not to disappoint her.

The castle was later attacked by Yuga, and he turned Impa into a painting because of her status as one of the new sages. Yuga brought the paintings of the seven sages and Zelda to Lorule, where he used them in a ritual to revive Ganon. Afterwards, the paintings were distributed to different parts of Lorule to be guarded by different bosses. Impa's painting was kept at Turtle Rock. After Link freed her from the painting, she was sent to the Chamber of Sages and remained there as the other sages were gathered. Impa rescinded her earlier doubts about Link and saw that he had become a true hero. After all of the sages were freed, they combined their powers to summon the Triforce of Courage for Link. With it, Link was able to face and defeat Yuga Ganon. Impa was then returned to Hyrule, where she resumed her duties at Hyrule Castle. In the end credits, she was seen startling a snoozing guard.
