'''Holodrum''' is a land that was featured as the setting of ''[[The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons]]''.

=Information=

Holodrum is a land that is associated with the passing of seasons. Its climate makes perfect shifts to match each of the four seasons. This land does also contain several methods of shifting the seasons at will within contained areas. The [[Rod of Seasons]], contained within the Temple of Seasons, could be used to shift the seasons as long as the Rod contained the corresponding spirits which resided in the Temple. Holodrum was also home to the Oracle of Seasons, [[Din]], who had the power to naturally change the seasons. Holodrum is located on the surface, while another land named [[Subrosia]] is located deep underground. During the events of ''Oracle of Seasons'', Din was captured by [[Onox|General Onox]], who used her powers to throw the seasons of Holodrum into chaos. [[Link]] was able to claim the Rod of Seasons and used it to help control the seasons while gathering the Essences of Nature. After General Onox was beaten, Din was able to restore Holodrum to its natural weather.

Holodrum's primary species are humans and what appear to be [[Hylian]]s. There are only two small human towns, however, along with a few houses scattered throughout the land and no sign of any overall governing authority. There are also [[Goron]]s who live at the. Holodrum also contained its own [[Maku Tree]], which is located near Horon Village. The tree has acted as a source of wisdom for the locals and Link during his journey.

*'''Eastern Suburbs''' - This is the name of a small forested area just east of Horon Village which connects to the Woods of Winter. It notably contains Guru-Guru's windmill.
*'''Eyeglass Lake''' - This is a lake area located to the west of the Woods of Winter. It is named for the western lake, which has two islands that form a shape resembling a pair of eyeglasses. The Unicorn's Cave dungeon is located on a cliff in this area.
*'''Horon Village''' - Holodrum's primary human settlement which is located along its south-central coast. Its mayor is [[Mayor Ruul]], and the Maku Tree is located on the outskirts.
*'''Holodrum Plain''' - This is a plain area in the western part of Holodrum which connects to Spool Swamp and the Tarm Ruins. Mrs. Ruul resides here, and this is where Link meets Ricky the kangaroo.
*'''Goron Mountain''' - This is a northeastern mountain inhabited by Gorons, located between the Temple Ruins and Mt. Cucco. The interior of the mountain is filled with lava and likely is volcanic. The mountain itself usually had a cold climate, and the seasonal shifts cause the cold to become more severe, which endangers the Gorons. The Gorons primarily stay in caves, except for Biggoron due to his size. The Goron Elder from Labyrnna's Rolling Ridge came here long ago, possibly founding this Goron settlement, and one of the mountain's Gorons is his descendant.
*'''Graveyard''' - The graveyard is located along Holodrum's coast in the southeastern corner. It is reached through the pirate ship and is atop a cliff that can only be scaled with a vine during spring. The graveyard is small, but it contains the Explorer's Crypt dungeon.
*'''Mt. Cucco''' - This is a range of mountains located on Holodrum's northeastern edge. It is implied that these mountains are usually covered in snow, but the seasonal shifts left the area in a summer condition which caused the snow to melt and flood part of Holodrum. Some areas of Mt. Cucco can only be navigated with the help of Flying Cuccos. The Danging Dragon Dungeon is located amongst the mountains. [[Talon]] is lost here, and this is also where Link can meet Moosh.
*'''Lost Woods -''' The Lost Woods are located along the northwestern edge of Holodrum's map and are surrounded by the Tarm Ruins. It follows the classic depiction in which an explorer will constantly loop back into the same grove unless going through a certain pattern of directions. The forest notably contains an upgraded sword.
*'''Natzu Prairie/River/Wasteland -''' This area in north-central Holodrum is a variable depending on which animal becomes Link's partner. The primary difference between the three versions is the ratio of water in the river to the earth. Natzu Prairie is a fertile area that is compatible with Ricky's abilities, Natzu River is a more water-filled area for Dimitri, and the Natzu Wasteland is a more arid area with a smaller river that matches Moosh's skills. At the eastern end of this area is the Moblin Keep, where the Great Moblin is based until the keep is destroyed in battle with Link.
*'''North Horon''' - This is the meadow-like area located directly north of Horon Village and is actually around the center of Holodrum. It connects to several other areas and contains the Gnarled Root Dungeon (the first dungeon) as well as Malon's home and Blaino's gym.
*'''Northern Peak''' - This is the westernmost of Holodrum's northern mountains. It can only be accessed with the eight Essences of Nature, and this is where Onox's Castle was located.
*'''Samasa Desert''' - A desert located in the southeastern corner of Holodrum. The sourthern portion is also a coast. The desert has several quicksand pits which drop into underground caves. Link explores this area for the Stalfos Captain to get the Rusty Bell. The pirates' ship was marooned in this area, and its wreckage remained there until the captain brought the ship back to life with the ship's bell.
*'''Spool Swamp''' - This is a marshy area in the western area of Holodrum. It contains the Poison Moth's Lair, and it has a water level that can be changed by the Floodgate Keeper.
*'''Sunken City''' - The Sunken City is a small town located high in the northeastern portion of Holodrum, just south of the mountains. It is a large body of water that is fed by a set of waterfalls known as Sunken Falls which fall from Mt. Cucco. It appears that the town is not always like this, and the floods were caused by the seasonal shifts melting the snow on Mt. Cucco. The actual city consists of houses built on small islands and some that are directly on the water. Dimitri could be met here, and Link would save him from being abused by a group of children calling themselves the Safety Patrol. Inhabitants include [[Ingo]], [[Syrup]] and the post-defeat Great Moblin This is Holodrum's only human settlement aside from Horon Village.
*'''Tarm Ruins''' - The Tarm Ruins are a set of forested ruins found in the northwestern corner of Holodrum. This area can be accessed only with four specially-shaped jewels found throughout Holodrum. This area contains the Ancient Ruins dungeon and also connects to the Lost Woods.
*'''Temple of Seasons''' - This temple, located along the northern edge of Holodrum in a mountainous area, is where the Rod of Seasons was stored. It contains four towers which each correspond to a different seasonal spirit. Onox sinks the Temple into Subrosia during the events of the game. Link slowly explores the Temple throughout the game to empower the Rod of Seasons. The area where the Temple used to be is known as the Temple Ruins.
*'''Woods of Winter''' - This is a large forest located in the eastern portion of Holodrum. As the name implies, the forest is meant to be explored in winter, although some areas can only be reached by changing the season. Holly lives within the forest, and it also contains the Snake's Remains dungeon.

=Trivia=

*Some parts of the map are nearly identical to areas in ''[[The Legend of Zelda]]''. These homages most likely are leftovers from the original version of the game, which was intended to be a remake of ''The Legend of Zelda''.
*The only direct references to both Holodrum and Labrynna outside of the ''Oracle'' games was in ''[[The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap|The Minish Cap]]'', where they were mentioned as the respective homelands of Din and [[Nayru]].
*In ''[[The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild|Breath of the Wild]]'', a part of the [[Lanayru Province|Lanayru]] region is named Lodrum Headland in reference to Holodrum. There are also several other areas named after locations within Holodrum: Horon Lagoon, Samasa Plain, Spool Blight and Tarm Point.
