Glameow is well known for its fickle nature. It claws if displeased and purrs when it feels affectionate. When Glameow is happy, it also moves its tail beautifully, so it resembles a dancing ribbon. Glameow can use its sharp glare to put foes into a mild hypnotic state. Glameow also hide their spiteful tendencies to hook their claws into the noses of their trainers when they are not fed.

*In the Pokémon anime, one Glameow that was initially shown in several episodes was Johanna's main Pokémon, which acted like a house pet and which she used to use for Pokémon Contests. Zoey also used a Glameow in several episodes as her main contest Pokémon. Another episode also featured Team Rocket's Meowth falling in love with a trainer's Glameow, but the relationship ended after it evolved into Purugly.

*Glameow made some minor appearances in the Pokémon Adventures manga during the Diamond/Pearl arc. Diamond's mom and Bebe were each shown to own one.
