Chauncey
Chauncey was the infant son of Neville and Lydia who was apparently born as a ghost and described as being one year old. He was known to cry loudly and never sleep through the night, and he was also said to be more effective at scaring others than his older brothers, Henry and Orville.

He was found at the Nursery and was faced as the first boss of the game. He was summoned by using the Poltergust to rock a rocking horse and then slapping a ball at Chancey, angering him. Chauncey used his dark powers to shrink Luigi down and placed him in his crib, where Chauncey threw balls and rocking horses at him. Luigi could use the Poltergust to shoot another ball at Chauncey to stun him, at which point he could be sucked up by the Poltergust.

Bogmire
Bogmire was a mysterious living shadow who was said to be a product of the mansion's fear and despair, although he no longer knew what to fear or despair. Bogmire seemed to have some power over lightning, and he could also bring his own shadows to life as mindless underlings.

He acted as the boss ghost of the second area and battled Luigi in a large arena with his shadows. Luigi could turn the tables on Bogmire by sucking up the shadows and then throwing them back at Bogmire, stunning him while Luigi sucked him into the Poltergust 3000.

Boolossus
Boolossus was a being comprised of fifteen individual Boos who had fused together. Boolossus was the last ghost caught by Professor Elvin Gadd before he decided to retire. After learning that Boolossus had been captured and made into a portrait for E. Gadd's gallery, King Boo was furious and sought revenge, which led to the events of Luigi's Mansion.

Boolossus was the last boss ghost before King Boo and battled Luigi on the third floor balcony. Luigi soon found a way to split Boolossus into the fifteen smaller Boos, as he used the Poltergust to pull Boolossus into the pointy horn of a unicorn statue, popping him like a balloon into the fifteen smaller Boos. Even as normal Boos, they were slippery and resourceful, but the Ice Element could be utilized by Luigi to to freeze them before sucking them up, one by one. Boolossus would eventually refuse, but he would become smaller with each Boo was sucked up, and he could be split apart by the statue's horn once again. Eventually, every Boo of Boolossus was sucked up and returned to portrait form.

King Boo
King Boo acted as the ultimate antagonist and the final boss of the game. He created the fake mansion and freed the portrait ghosts to get revenge for E. Gadd capturing Boolossus. He also captured Mario himself and turned him into a portrait.

During the final battle, King Boo attacked from within some decoy version of Bowser. By knocking Bowser's head off, Luigi could attack King Boo with the Poltergust. After being defeated, King Boo was turned into the final portrait of E. Gadd's gallery.

Neville was the father of the family of ghosts appearing in the game, being the wife of Lydia and the father of Orville, Henry and Chauncey. He was known for his love of books and spent his time reading in the study. He would telekinetically throw books from a bookcase at intruders. He could only be stunned by the flashlight when he stopped to stretch and yawn, at which point he could be captured.

Lydia was the wife of Neville and the mother of Orville, Henry and Chancey. She stashed her savings away for her long afterlife. Her favorite hobby was mirror-gazing, but she hated the cold. Lydia spent her time in the Master Bedroom where she focused on her mirror. Luigi could use his Poltergust to pull the curtain back, and as Lydia shivered from the sudden draft, she was then vulnerable to being stunned by the flashlight and sucked into the Poltergust.

She inhabited Nana's Room, where she sat in a rocking chair while knitting. Luigi had to fire three of her yarn balls at her to make her hear vulnerable to capture.

Melody Pianissma
Melody was a prodigious young pianist who was known to have a surly disposition and a love for video games. She was found playing piano at the mansion's Conservatory. Melody appeared before Luigi after he played all of the instruments found within the room and proceeded to challenge him to a quiz. This quiz consisted of her playing music from other video games and asking Luigi to identify them. If he passed her quiz, then she would proceed to attack Luigi by throwing sheet music at him. At this point, she was vulnerable to being stunned by Luigi's flashlight and sucked into the Poltergust.

Miss Petunia
Age:</b< Unknown

Miss Petunia was a ghost who took on the form of a pig-like being dressed in a bikini. She was a model who was known for being a runner-up in a Miss Ghost pageant six years before Luigi's Mansion, but she was also said to not have had much work lately (possibly due to her time trapped in a portrait). Miss Petunia was found in the second floor bathroom, where she was taking a hot shower and attacked anyone who disturbed her with blasts of hot water. However, Luigi could use the ice element to stun her and make her vulnerable to being captured.

Madama Clairvoya
Age: Unknown

Madame Clairvoya was a fortune teller whose close connection to the spirit world allowed her to see nearly 49 days into the future. She was the only ghost who acted as an ally to Luigi and ultimately allowed herself to willingly be captured. She appeared at the Fortune-Teller's Room, and she made predictions whenever Luigi brought her one of Mario's five belongings that were scattered across the mansion. These predictions related to Mario's status as well as the roles of King Boo and Bowser. After all five predictions were delivered, Clairvoya claimed that she had exhausted all of her energy and was ready to return to her painting satisfied. Luigi could then freely suck her up with the Poltergust, with her putting up only a minimal level of resistance.

Shivers
Shivers is a butler who expired at the age of 72 years old- but his ghost remained, constantly looking for his master's will to see if he was included.

Shivers wound up being captured by E. Gadd, but he was freed by King Boo to haunt the mansion of "Luigi's Mansion". There he also fell in love with the young Melody Pianissima. Shivers wanders the halls of the first floor outside Melody's room until Luigi startles him by lighting his candle. He rushes off to his room, where Luigi catches him in the Poltergust to become a portrait in E. Gadd's gallery.

Sue Pea
Sue Pea was a young girl who loved taking long naps, but one recurring problem she had involved accidents in the bed. Sadly passing at the age of seven, Sue became a powerful ghost who could flip entire rooms upside down and had strong telekinetic powers that she used to scare off anyone who tried to disturb her sleep. She was originally captured by E. Gadd and turned into one of his portraits.

When King Boo freed all the portrait ghosts to haunt the mansion in "Luigi's Mansion", Sue spent her time in the guest room, which she flipped upside down while she rested in the bed, upside down. Luigi eventually found her, and despite her warnings, decided to wake her. Luigi shot water from his Poltergust at the bed, causing Sue to wake up, thinking she had wet the bed again and thus exposing her heart. Luigi then sucked Sue Pea into the Poltergust 3000 while she tried to telekinetically toss dolls at him. She was then returned to her painting.

Floating Whirlindas
Once the Whirlindas were the greatest waltz champions. Although they died, their spirits continued dancing as the Floating Whirlindas.

The Floating Whirlindas were originally captured by E. Gadd, but King Boo freed them to haunt the mansion of "Luigi's Mansion". This couple spent their time dancing about the Ballroom. Luigi managed to shine his flashlight on the man as they twirled, and the couple was quickly vacuumed up to be trapped in a portrait of E. Gadd's gallery.

Mr. Luggs
All Mr. Luggs ever has on his mind is food. He spent his life eating at every oppurtunity, becoming bloated and disgusting-looking. Luggs preferred to eat in the dark, where no one could see what a pig he was making of himself. These horrid habits led him to an early death at the age of 30. Mr. Luggs became a ghost, still trying to satisfy his hunger with endless plates of food brought to him by ghostly servants. Luggs was hostile to anyone who interuppted his meals and spat fireballs at them.

Mr. Luggs was eventually captured by E. Gadd, but he was later freed by King Boo to haunt the mansion of "Luigi's Mansion". Mr. Luggs naturally chose to spend his time in the dining room and was still filling himself when Luigi came. First he had to light the candles to make Luggs visible. And then he ticked off Luggs by sucking up his food and servants. Luggs violently lashed at Luigi, only to be sucked up and made into another potrait in E. Gadd's ghost gallery, where he would be hungry for a long time.

Jarvis
Jarvis once was a collector of antique jars, but now this purple ghost actually lives in them. Jarvis is quite proud of his collection and believes people must pass challenges if they wish to see it. And if things didn't go his way, he'd mentally fling jars at anyone who offended him. His temper tantrums eventually brought him to the attention of Professor E. Gadd, who captured Jarvis to become a portrait in his ghost gallery.

After King Boo freed all the portrait ghosts to haunt the mansion in "Luigi's Mansion", Jarvis had his jar collection on display in the Ceramics Studio. When he caught Luigi snooping around his collection, Jarvis made him play a minigame for the right to view his collection: Jarvis would emerge from random jars seven times, and if Luigi can spray Jarvis with ice each time, Jarvis would give Luigi permission to look around. Luigi completed his minigame, but Jarvis went back on his word and attacked Luigi instead. But in the process his heart was exposed, so Luigi sucked him up and sent him back to his portrait.

Spooky
Spooky was a vicious bulldog that constantly attacked anything that looked edible. The dog died at the age of four, but its ghost lived on and continued searching for human chew toys.

Spooky was originally captured by E. Gadd, but he was later freed by King Boo to haunt the mansion in "Luigi's Mansion". Spooky rested in his doghouse in the boneyard until Luigi woke him by filling his bowl with water. Spooky began to attack Luigi. The only way to defeat Spooky was to defeat Mr. Bones. While Spooky was preoccupied licking the bone Mr. Bones left behind, Luigi sucked him into the Poltergust 3000, where he was back to being a portrait in E. Gadd's ghost gallery.

The Twins
Henry and Orville were too young twin brothers. Henry like toy cars, while Orville liked toy planes, but both of them loved hide-and-seek. But both of them only liked to hide, which made the game redundant. They sadly died young at the agr of 5, but they remained as troublesome ghosts. E. Gadd originally caught them and made them into a portrait in his gallery.

When King Boo freed all the portrait ghosts to haunt the mansion in "Luigi's Mansion", the twins had their own room to haunt. They only appeared later Luigi used his Poltergust to move the hanging mobiles in circles. They challenged Luigi to a game of hide-and-seek, hiding in two out of five boxes in the room. When Luigi won, the ghosts got angry and attacked Luigi. Henry drove at him in a toy car, while Orville dropped bombs from a toy plane above. Luigi sucked up both toys and the boys with them, and the ghosts were returned to their portraits.

Clockwork Soldiers
These three toys once belonged to a tightly-wound toy collector. Since then they've somehow become life-sized ghosts who attack intruders with their cork guns. They were originally captured by E. Gadd and placed in a portrait together.

When King Boo freed all the portrait ghosts to haunt the mansion in "Luigi's Mansion", the Clockwork Soldiers stayed at attention in the Clockwork Room. Only after Luigi turned on all the works in the room did the Clockwork Soldiers start marching and attempting to blast Luigi with their corks. But Luigi used his Poltergust to suck up the corks and then the ghosts themselves, and the Clockwork Soldiers were returned to their portrait.

Biff Atlas
Biff Atlas was a young and sensitive body-builder, his two favorite things being muscles and lilies (which symbolize purity), until he died at the age of 26. His ghost continued to work out until he was captured by Professor E. Gadd to be safely contained within a portrait in his ghost gallery.

Biff was later freed by King Boo to help haunt the mansion of "Luigi's Mansion". Biff Atlas continued his workout within the Tranining Room. Luigi gets Biff's attention after agitated him by smacking punching bags at him. Biff angrily flies at Luigi, who continues smacking him until his heart is exposed and then sucks him into the Poltergust 3000. He is soon returned to portrait form.

Slim Bankshot
Slim Bankshot died at the age of 29 and became a ghost. As a ghost he became a legend in the world of competetive pool, but he has never played a living soul. When Slim hits billiards, they tend to fly off the table and bounce around the room like deadly projectiles. Slim Bankshot was first captured by E. Gadd and became a portrait in his ghost gallery.

When King Boo freed all the portrait ghosts to haunt the mansion in "Luigi's Mansion", Slim worked on his game in the Billiards Room. Luigi eventually confronted him. As the billiard balls bounced about, Luigi sucked them with his Poltergust and shot them back at Slim until his heart was exposed. Slim Bankshot was then captured to become a portrait again.

Sir Weston
Sir Weston, the chilly climber, loves the cold and has spent most of his life and afterlife at the lowest temperatures possible. It's likely that the cold he loved so much caused him tp die early at the age of 30 in some ironic way. Sir Weston became a ghost, incased in a block of ice, but the trouble was maintaining his cool content when people tried to thaw him. With his new power, Sir Weston attacked any heat-bringers by making waves of deadly icicles rise from the groun. But Professor Elvin Gadd was able to outsmart the ghost and imprison him in a portrait in his ghost gallery.

When King Boo freed all the portrait ghosts to haunt the mansion in "Luigi's Mansion", Sir Weston spent his time cooling off in the Cold Storage Chamber, although he shouldn't have parked his ice block right next to those piles of wood. Luigi came wandering by and lit the wood on fire, in hopes of freeing Weston. But Weston greeted Luigi coldly (oh man I'm clever) by attacking him. This time shooting the fire directly at the ice block, it melted and Luigi was able to suck Sir Weston up. Sir Weston was returned to his portrait in Professor Elvin Gadd's ghost gallery with the rest of the ghosts.

Uncle Grimmly
Grimmly was a man who often kept to himself in the darkness he loved. The rest of his family didn't seem to care anyway. After his death at the age of 45, his ghost still wandered the darkness. Grimmly thought of himself as scary and was proud of it. His pride did not help when he was captured by E. Gadd and turned into a portrait in the professor's ghost gallery.

When King Boo freed all the portrait ghosts to haunt the mansion in "Luigi's Mansion", Uncle Grimmly chose to haunt the Parlor. However, he only appeared during the mansion's blackout late in the game. When Uncle Grimmly tried putting on a scary pose, his heart was briefly exposed, and Luigi was able to recapture him with the Poltergust 3000, and he was returned to his portrait.

Vincent Van Gore
Vincent van Gore is an artist with a French accent, but he hasn't sold any paintings in thirty years. When he died at the age of 59, Vincent wasn't ready to let his work- or himself- die, so he came back as a ghost to make his work eternal. With his new ghost powers his drawings could come to life- and many of the things he drew were not so nice. But his artwork couldn't save him from E. Gadd, who captured Vincent and trapped him in, ironically, a portrait.

When King Boo freed all the portrait ghosts to haunt the mansion of "Luigi's Mansion", Vincent van Gore holed himself up in the Artist's Studio. There he created more and more generic minion ghosts that plagued the mansion, proving himself to be important to King Boo's scheme. Vincent was Luigi's last challenge before going to fight King Boo himself. Luigi confronted Vincent just as he was finishing a painting of a treasure chest. From his other paintings, Vincent summoned three of each kind of ghost to battle Luigi continuosly. But Luigi sucked them all up in the Poltergust 3000, and Vincent's only remained work was the treasure chest. Vincent van Gore was then sucked in as well and wound up living the rest of his afterlife like one of his creations, hanging from Elvin Gadd's wall.
