'''Elite Beat Agents''' is a rhythm game that was released for the [[Nintendo DS]] in 2006. In Korea, the game is called ''Dowajweo! Rhythm Hero''. The idea for the game came after surprisingly high import rates for ''[[Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan]]''. Worried that the original game's Japanese culture references would be lost on the Western audience, ''Elite Beat Agents'' to appeal more directly to that audience. In an effort to give the game more attention to an expanded audience, Nintendo marketed the game under its [[Touch Generations]] label.

=Story=

The Elite Beat Agents are members of a government agency for helping people out. When someone is at the end of their rope and yells for help, the Elite Beat Agents appear. They help indirectly by motivating the person with their singing and dancing.

=Gameplay=

The game is made up of different episodes. In each episode, there is a person who needs help. The Elite Beat Agents motivate him with song and dance.

On the bottom screen, various markers appear. The player must tap, drag, or spin the markers  in time to the music to keep the Elite Meter up. If the Elite Meter is empty, the player has failed that stage. Each stage has several different endings depending on how well the player did.

The game tracks the players high score on each stage as well as giving them a cumulative rank. There are unlockable stages for those who achieve a certain rank.

The game also uses the Wi-Fi connect for a Multiplayer Mode. Players can compete or work together.

=Legacy=

The Elite Beat Agents were later distributed through Japanese DS Download Stations as extra characters for ''[[Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan 2]]'' during a brief 2 week period in the summer of 2007. The Agents were used for stickers and a trophy in ''[[Super Smash Bros. Brawl]]'', and there were also [[Spirit|Spirits]] based on them in ''[[Super Smash Bros. Ultimate]]''.
