Crocomire is a boss encountered in Norfair in Super Metroid.

Information

This large reptile had four sets of eyes and six limbs, making it a quite unusual species. It lived within Norfair and was resistant to extreme heat, but was not powerful enough to withstand lava. What made Crocomire particularly dangerous was its completely invulnerable body. All forms of attack simply bounced right off it.

Samus was able to defeat Crocomire by firing missiles in Crocomire's mouth when it attempted to spit out plasma balls. This alone did not damage Crocomire, but caused it to step back from the attack. Samus was able to fire enough missiles in the reptile's mouth at a fast enough rate that Crocomire fell into the lava pool behind it. Although it made an effort to leave the lava, its flesh was quickly burned off. All that remained of it was its skull, which managed to fly out of the lava and destroy a wall that blocked Samus's path.

Trivia

• He was going to appear in Metroid Zero Mission, but he was left out towards the end of development. By using game hacking devices it's possible to have him appear in a room, but he is invincible.
