He was born Blumiere to the Tribe of Darkness, an offshoot of the Tribe of the Ancients. Although it was forbidden, Blumiere formed a romance with a human woman, Timpani, whom he he grew to love greatly. However, after Blumiere's father found out about the romance, he put an end to it by cursing Timpani and trapping her between dimensions. All his efforts to find her were in vain. So he turned to the Dark Prognosticus, the Tribe of Darkness's potent book of prophecies. He adopted the new name of Count Bleck and soon found a prophecy that suited his needs- one that would destroy all worlds.

He adopted the new name of Count Bleck and soon found a prophecy that suited his needs- one that would destroy all worlds.

Count Bleck gathered a team of minions - Nastasia, Dimentio, Mimi and O'Chunks, usually through manipulation and deceit. He claimed that after he destroyed all the worlds, he would create a perfect one, but he actually planned to keep the world in ruins out of spite. To fulfill the prophecy, Bleck captured Princess Peach and Bowser, and forced them to marry. This unholy matrimony created the Chaos Heart and opened up the Void, which would slowly swallow up all of the worlds. A group of heroes (Mario, Luigi, Peach and Bowser) soon began journeying to stop Bleck, but he was confident that they could not overrule the fate foretold by the Dark Prognosticus.

Bleck began to regret his actions when he realized that Mario's Pixl companion Tippy was actually his long-lost Timpani. However, Bleck felt it was too late to stop the end of the worlds as he had already started. Mario's team finally confronted Bleck in Chapter 8-4: Tippi and Count Bleck. Bleck was at first protected by a shield, but the power of the eight Pure Hearts neutralized this. Mario's group was able to defeat Bleck afterwards, thus fulfilling the prophecy of the Light Prognosticus. Bleck then begged them to finish him off in order to destroy the Chaos Heart and undo the damage that would be caused by the Void.

Dimentio then launched a fatal beam at Bleck, but Nastasia, whom had always had an unrequited crush on the count, took the blow for him. Dimentio sent Bleck, Tippi and Nastasia to an alternate dimension while he took the Chaos Heart for himself. Bleck and Tippi rekindled their relationship, revitalizing the Pure Hearts and allowing Mario's group to defeat Super Dimentio. But the Void is still kept going by a shadow of Dimentio's power. In a last-ditch effort to stop the void, Bleck and Tippy returned to the wedding altar. This time a ceremony of true love was held in order to repel the Chaos Heart and stop the Void. It also resulted in the newlyweds Bleck and Tippi mysteriously disappearing. However, at the end of the game they are seen sitting in a peaceful field together, Tippi once again human.
