Bulbasaur stayed with Ash for a long time, refusing to evolve, and eventually was sent back to Professor Oak to break up the fights which had erupted among the Pokémon under Professor Oak's care. May also caught a female Bulbasaur later on. Her Bulbasaur was also sent to Professor Oak, and fell in love with Ash's Bulbasaur.
