'''Basculin''' is a hostile fish Pokémon that was introduced in the fifth generation games. It has no evolutionary line  but comes in two different forms: one with red stripes and one with blue stripes.

=Information=

The two different types of Basculin do not get along and are always at odds with each other. Red and blue Basculin usually break out into fights whenever being around each other. These fish are known for being hostile in general. However, it has been known for members of one Basculin's school to mingle with members of another.

In ''[[Pokémon: Black and White Versions]]'', Basculin are commonly found by surfing or fishing in any body of water within [[Unova]], although the form availability depends on the version. In ''Black'', the red-striped Basculin is found normally while fishing or surfing, while the blue-striped Basculin appears only at surfing or fishing spots. Inversely, in ''White'' the blue-striped Basculin appears usually when fishing or surfing with the red-striped Basculin appearing only at surfing and fishing spots. 

A Basculin (with the unique ability Rock Head in ''White'') can also be traded to the player by a trainer in Driftveil City for a [[Minccino]].
