Antenna Beetles are bizzare insects that emit loud screeches that brainwash Pikmin. The sound also disrupts the Treasure Gauge.

Information

Although not hostile creatures, Antenna Beetles are known to confuse pikmin, which are particularily sensitive to high pitched noises. The loud roar it makes causes pikmin to follow it in much the same way they follow Olimar due to its peculiar frequency. What is dangerous is that the Antenna Beetle may often lead them into danger where they will get killed. Its whistling sound also upsets radars, including the Treasure Radar Olimar used.

However, this is all a defensive measure that the creature uses. With its two long legs it is able to quickly jump away and escape most predators. It prefers living underground in dark, humid areas. It has also been observed that it is known to inhabit discarded containers.

• The Antenna Beetle is worth five pokos, but needs only three pikmin to carry.
