Mario Superstar Baseball (known in Japan as Super Mario Stadium Miracle Baseball) is a baseball game featuring various Mario characters.

Gameplay[edit]

The main part of the game is playing baseball and not much has changed from the real sport. Players take turns batting and fielding. Three outs and the teams switch positions. The player with the most points at the end of nine innings is the winner.

There are some special features. Sweet spots let characters hit the ball farther than normal, star power lets them use special pitches, and star abilities helps them make spectacular catches. Another interesting aspect is team chemistry. If two players have good chemistry, the ball moves faster when one throws it to another. For example, the ball will move faster if Mario throws to Luigi and slower if he throws to Bowser.

The game has several different modes. Exhibition lets the player play a single game. In Challenge Mode, players play agianst other teams to recruit players and ultimately go against Bowser's team. Toy Field lets the player play for coins on a field similar to old "Pitch and Bat" machines. Minigames let players play a series of minigames. Practice Mode lets players practice various controls.

Teams[edit]

All player are divided into 6 teams. Each team, except for Bowser's team at the start of the game, can be chosen in Challenge Mode to wander around the stadiums recluting new members from other teams. Each reclutable member from other teams has a count of the times they were amazed by the baseball abilities of the selected team a white flag will be given. The better the character the more flags it needs to change teams. However, if the leader gets all the flags before their team members then the other members will be sent to Bowser Jr.'s team.
