'''Wooper''' is a small amphibious Pokémon that was introduced in the second generation games. Its evolved form is [[Quagsire]].

=Information=

Wooper usually live in cold water. They occasionally leave the water to search for food on land, usually when it is cold outside in the evening. While on land, Wooper coats its body with a gooey, toxic film in order to keep its skin from dehydrating. Their bodies are covered in mucous membranes which will cause shooting pain to anyone who touches them bare-handed. Wooper usually half-bury themselves in mud at the bottom of a body of water when they go to sleep.

It evolves into Quagsire at Level 30.

In ''[[Pokémon: Gold and Silver Versions|Gold, Silver]]'', ''[[Pokémon: Crystal Version|Crystal]]'', ''[[Pokémon: HeartGold and SoulSilver Versions|HeartGold and SoulSilver]]'', Wooper could be found on foot at Route 32 (rare in the morning - as well as the daytime in ''HeartGold''/''SoulSilver'' - and common at night) or by surfing at Union Cave and outside the Ruins of Alph. In ''Crystal'', they also appeared on foot outside the Ruins of Alph (rarely at night) and Union Cave (uncommonly at night). In ''HeartGold''/''SoulSilver'', Wooper was also found at the Cliff Cave at Route 47 (rarely in the morning and at night), by surfing at Cliff Gate and both on foot and by surfing at the Safari Zone's Meadow area. It could also be caught at the Beautiful Beach course of the [[Pokéwalker]], from which it could be transferred to ''HeartGold''/''SoulSilver''.

In ''[[Pokémon: FireRed and LeafGreen Versions|FireRed]]'', they could be found by surfing at Four Island, Icefall Cave (rarely) and at Ruin Valley, where they also uncommonly appeared on foot. In ''[[Pokémon: Emerald Version|Emerald]]'', it commonly appeared at the Safari Zone's extension. In ''[[Pokémon: Diamond and Pearl Versions|Diamond, Pearl]]'' and ''[[Pokémon: Platinum Version|Platinum]]'', they were found both on foot and by surfing at the Great Marsh as well as Route 212 in the first two versions, once more being more common when surfing. In ''[[Pokémon: Black and White Versions|White]]'', it was found by surfing at White Forest.

In ''[[Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness]]'', Wooper could be caught at the Cave Poké Spot and then could be traded to any of the third generation color versions. Wooper was also featured in the [[e-Reader]] minigame called "Wooper's Juggling Game" where the player controlled a Wooper using Water Gun to keep [[Poliwag]] and [[Totodile]] (as well as eventually [[Psyduck]]) in the air. In ''[[Pokémon Channel]]'', Wooper appeared at Camp Starlight on Wednesday nights. In ''[[Pokémon Trozei!]]'', it was found at SOL Laboratories, Endless Level 11. Trozei Battle and Mr. Who's Den. 

In ''[[Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red and Blue Rescue Teams]]'', it could be recruited at the eighth through tenth floors of Sinister Woods and the third through sixth floors of Waterfall Pond, while in ''[[Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Darkness|Explorers of Time and Darkness]]'' it was found at the first eight basement floors of Waterfall Cave and the first seven basement floors of Serenity River. In ''[[Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs]]'', Wooper was found at the Old Mansion and Ice Temple.

*In ''[[Super Smash Bros. Melee]]'', a float of Wooper appears in the Poké Floats stage and is notable for being onscreen the longest out of the floats.

*In the Pokémon anime, Wooper was first featured in an episode of the Johto series where Ash and his friends watched over a school of Wooper. Wooper have also been shown as friends of the Pichu Brothers in shorts featuring them, and Wooper have made various minor appearances throughout the anime's run.
*In the ''Pokémon Adventures'' manga, a con man used a Wooper for one of his schemes in a chapter of the ''Gold''/''Silver''/''Crystal'' arc.

*Its name, unlocalized from its Japanese name, is taken from "Wooper Looper", a marketing term in Japan that was used to promote a fad of raising pet salamanders.
