There are four different sports games to be chosen from (basketball, volleyball, hockey, or dodgeball). The gameplay is influenced by ''Mario Hoops'', along with the addition of ? Panels which can grant the players items to use during games. The playable characters are able to perform a variety of moves that are unique to the character (such as [[Mario]]'s spin jump and [[Bowser]]'s shell defenses). Characters also have other special abilities exclusive to the character (similar to those in ''Mario Hoops 3-on-3'') which can be used to cause disastrous effects during the game. This game also supports online multiplayer.
