Dusknoir is a mysterious ghost Pokémon with a connection to the afterlife that was introduced in the fourth generation games. It acts as a new evolved form for the third generation Pokémon Dusclops, which retroactively makes it the third and final form in Duskull's evolutionary line.

A Dusclops will evolve into a Dusknoir when traded while holding a Reaper Cloth. This form is more ghostlike and loses the legs that Dusclops had gained in its evolution. Dusknoir also has an antenna on its head which apparently captures radio waves from the world of spirits. These signals command Dusknoir to take people to the world of spirits. Dusknoir is said to take lost spirits into its pliant body and guide them to their home, which presumably refers to the spirit world. Dusknoir is a mysterious Pokémon in general as it is capable of traveling to worlds unknown.

In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Darkness, Dusknoir could be recruited at the fourteenth through fifteenth basement floors of the Spacial Rift, the first four floors of Deep Spacial Rift and Sky Stairway. A Dusknoir from the future also acted as one of the main antagonists of the game and reappeared in one of the bonus episodes of Explorers of Sky where it became good and worked with Grovyle. In Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia, it was found at Hippowdon Temple and was also one of the main Pokémon used by Blake Hall. In Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs, it was found at Noir Forest, the Dark Temple and the Light Temple. In Pokémon Rumble, it could be found at Eternal Tower. Dusknoir also appeared in PokéPark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure at the Haunted Zone.

*In the Pokémon anime, one episode of the Sinnoh series featured a Dusknoir that was being wrongly blamed for supernatural mischief in the area. The actual culprit was the ghost of a girl, and Ash's group realized the truth after the Dusknoir saved them. In other episodes, a Dusknoir was featured as part of Conway's team. The Dusknoir from Explorers of Time and Darkness also appeared in the Explorers of Sky special where it attacked the protagonists with its gang of Sableye.

Trivia
*Its name is a combination of "dusk" (which refers to the night that it is associated with and is carried over from its previous forms) with "noir" (which is French for "black").
