Drowzee is a Pokémon that puts people to sleep and then eats their dreams. It remembers all the dreams it has eaten, and it rarely eats adult's dreams due to preferring the taste of children's dreams, having a love for fun dreams. If one sleeps by a Drowzee all the time, it will sometimes show the person their dreams that they have eaten in the past. They have been known to get sick from eating bad dreams. It can usually tell where someone is sleeping and what they are dreaming about whenever it twitches its nose.

It has been described as a descendant of the legendary animal baku. Drowzee have been known to eat people's dreams through their nostrils while standing above their pillow, with a sign of this being the person having an itchy nose. They are skilled hypnotists, which makes them useful in battles. Drowzee evolves into Hypno at Level 26.

*In Super Smash Bros. Melee, Drowzee made a cameo appearance among a group of Pokémon during the game's intro sequence.

Other Media
*It was initially featured in an episode of the Pokémon anime where both a Drowzee and a Hypno belonged to a Pokémon Lover's Club. Ash and his friends worked with the Drowzee to undo the damage that the Hypno's hypnosis had caused. A later Orange Islands episode featured a Drowzee being used by Butch and Cassidy to hypnotize the Pokémon of an island into becoming their Pokémon until Ash and his friends came to stop them. It ended with Togepi and Drowzee competing in using the Metronome move, and Togepi caused an explosion that knocked it out. They have also made other, mostly minor appearances throughout the series.

*In the Pokémon Adventures manga, Drowzee have made only a few minor appearances belonging to members of Team Rocket and Team Galactic. It was also shown among the Pokémon that Gold had at his home.

Trivia
*Its name is a play on "drowsy". The "z" in its name could have been added to emphasize its connection with sleep, as zs are often using to represent sleeping.

*Drowzee is designed based on the tapir-like  Japanese mythological creature called the Baku, which is known for eating people's dreams and nightmares. This connection is actually acknowledged in its Pokédex entry. The fifth generation later introduces Munna] and Musharna, a pair of dream-eating Pokémon that also are inspired by the Baku.
