-*In the Pokémon anime, Corphish was first shown in an episode of the Hoenn series where one attacked Ash's group after he accidentally got one with his fishing rod. Several episodes later, Ash caught his own Corphish that had been attacking the group from the sand. It was an impulsive fighter and easily became jealous of other Pokémon, but it was still a useful fighter that played roles in most of Ash's gym battles as well as the Ever Grande Conference. One episode also featured Corphish developing an unrequited crush on a [[Mawile]] and performing a song with [[Brock]]. Between the Hoenn and Battle Frontier series, Ash left Corphish at Pallet Town, where it befriended [[Kingler]].
