=Information=

Togepi is a Pokémon that is freshly hatched from an egg and is shaped like a spiked ball. Togepi is known for being full of joy. Togepi feeds off of positive emotions, storing up happiness within its shell, and usually shares the happiness with others. Togepi is also considered a token of good luck, and a proverb says that happiness will come to anyone who can make a sleeping Togepi stand up.

When Togepi has collected enough happiness and then leveled up, it will evolve into a [[Togetic]].

==Mainstream Games==

In ''[[Pokémon: FireRed and LeafGreen Versions]]'', Togepi can be hatched from an egg given by an old man who is found in the Water Labyrinth near Six Island. In ''[[Pokémon: Gold and Silver Versions|Pokémon Gold, Silver]]'', ''[[Pokémon: Crystal Version|Crystal]]'', ''[[Pokémon: HeartGold and SoulSilver Versions|HeartGold and SoulSilver]]'', Togepi hatches from the egg discovered by Mr. Pokémon. [[Gold]] will receive the egg from an aide of [[Professor Elm]] at Violet City.  In the ''Crystal Version'', the player also receives an egg from the daycare couple which has a chance of hatching as Togepi as well as any of the second generation's other baby Pokémon.

Wild Togepi can be found in Route 210 in ''[[Pokémon: Diamond and Pearl Versions|Diamond, Pearl]]'' and ''[[Pokémon: Platinum Version|Platinum]]'' by using the Pokéradar. In ''Platinum'', [[Cynthia]] also gives the player a Togepi egg. In ''[[Pokémon: Black and White Versions|White]]'', Togepi could be found at the White Forest.

==Other Games==

In ''[[Hey You, Pikachu!]]'' (which is Togepi's first game appearance), Togepi's egg is found in the second Pokémon Picnic level. It can then be bought from [[Abra]]'s shop and hatched. In ''[[Pokémon Stadium 2]]'', Togepi was featured in the "Tumbling Togepi" minigame, where the player the player controlled one of four Togepi (or possibly a game-transferred [[Omanyte]]) that avoided obstacles while racing to the end of a field. Togepi could also be unlocked in ''[[Pokémon Puzzle Challenge]]'' by defeating the Pokéfan in Challenge Mode, who could only be faced in the Normal difficulty if the player performed a ten-block combo prior to facing [[Clair]]. Among the ''Pokémon'' [[e-Reader]] series, Togepi was featured in the "Pika Pop" minigame where it dances to music with [[Pikachu]].

Togepi can be obtained in ''[[Pokémon Colosseum]]'' via the [[e-Reader]], and in ''[[Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness]]'' from Hordel in the Outskirt Stand. The Togepi in those two games could later be transferred into any of the [[Gameboy Advance]] games. Togepi can be found on the Cobalt Coast on clear days in ''[[Pokémon Channel]]''. In ''[[Pokémon Trozei!]]'', it is found in Endless Levels 1, 5 and 50. In ''[[Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red and Blue Rescue Teams]]'', Togepi is found in the fifth through tenth levels of Wish Cave. In ''[[Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Darkness]]'', Togepi are found in the first nineteen basement floors of Happy Outlook, and a character Togepi also appears in the game as the leader of Team Glee. It also appeared in ''[[Pokémon Ranger: Guardian Signs]]'' at Mitonga Road and Thunder Temple.

*Togepi also appeared in ''[[Super Smash Bros. Melee]]'' and ''[[Super Smash Bros. Brawl]]'' as one of the Pokémon that could be randomly summoned from a [[Pokéball]]. In these games Togepi would use Metronome to produce a random attack. Togepi also appeared as a trophy in both games and as a sticker in ''Brawl''.

==Other Media==

*Prior to the release of the second generation games, Togepi appeared in the Pokémon anime. During the Kanto episodes, Ash and his group discovered an egg after battling several prehistoric Pokémon. It later hatched, and everyone battled to decide who would keep Togepi. Although Ash won, Togepi chose [[Misty]] as its mother because it had imprinted her as its mother. Togepi occasionally helped the group by using Metronome. During the Hoenn episodes, Togepi evolved into Togetic and left Misty to protect a group of Togepi. Other Togepi have occasionally appeared, such as in an episode of the Sinnoh series which focused on a Togepi which manipulated others with her charm in order to cause mischief. She wound up trapping Ash's group and [[Team Rocket]] in a spaceship that took off and battled [[Brock]]'s [[Happiny]], but in the end she used her powers to prevent the ship from crashing and then left to continue her mischief.
*A Togepi appeared in the ''Gold''/''Silver''/''Crystal'' arc of the ''Pokémon Adventures'' manga, where it was hatched by Gold and comes from [[Jasmine]]'s Togetic. This Togepi is unusually violent and reckless, as well as having inherited some of Gold's traits.

*"Togei" is Japanese for "spike", while the "pi" in its name may be derived from "piyopiyo", which is Japanese onomatopoeia used to represent a bird's chirping.
