Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi's Island is the third in the Super Mario Advance series of Game Boy Advance remakes of classic Mario games, this time porting Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island.

Information[edit]

Like Super Mario Advance 2: Super Mario World, this game was closer to the original but also included some new changes. Aside from various minor tweaks to levels and minigames, this game also included six new levels that were unlocked upon completion of the game. Additionally, Yoshi's voice acting from Yoshi's Story was incorporated into the game.

Like the previous Super Mario Advance games, Super Mario Advance 3 also contained the Mario Bros. Classic game which could be played on single player or multiple players.

Legacy[edit]

Ports and Remakes[edit]

  • In 2011, Yoshi's Island made up part of the set of Game Boy Advance games that were released for free download on the 3DS to those participating in the Ambassador Program. It never received a normal eShop release for that system and was only released normally through the Wii U's Virtual Console in 2014.
  • In May 2023, it was added to the Nintendo Switch's digital library of Game Boy Advance games that could be played by subscribers of the Nintendo Switch Online's Expansion Pack program.

Sequels[edit]

The next and last of the Super Mario Advance series was Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros. 3.
