=Plot=

A group of evil Tikis have taken control of the animals of [[Donkey Kong Island]], using them to steal [[Donkey Kong]]'s banana horde. DK and [[Diddy Kong]] team up again on a classic adventure to retrieve the bananas from these new foes.

=Gameplay=

The game is a sidescroller which is designed with similar controls to Rare's platformers. The main difference is the motion controls, as DK's movement is controlled with the Nunchuk controller's control stick, while shaking the Wiimote causes DK to slap the ground. Diddy also has unique moves inspired by ''[[Donkey Kong 64]]'', as he can fire [[Peanut Popguns]] and ride a jetpack. Many staples of the original series are reprised, including familiar level types such as mine cart chases and item quests such as collecting KONG letters for extra lives.

''Returns'' also features improved multiplayer gameplay from the original series, particularly in the form of cooperative gameplay. A second player can control Diddy, and Diddy can also jump on DK's back in order to avoid areas that are too difficult for said player.

'''Mia''' is one of the four playable characters of [[Isaac]]'s party in ''[[Golden Sun]]'' and ''[[Golden Sun: The Lost Age]]''. She is a Mercury Adept hailing from the city of Imil, and the former guardian of the Mercury Lighthouse.

=Background=

Mia was part of the Mercury Clan, composed of Mercury Adepts who lived at the snow-filled town of Imil and worked to protect the Mercury Lighthouse. However, unspecified circumstances led to Mia being the last of the Mercury Clan at Imil. Her apprentice (or her father's apprentice in the Japanese version) [[Alex]] was also part of the clan, but he mysteriously went missing. Alone, Mia often wound up overworked using her abilities to help heal all of Imil's residents. She also took two young children named Justin and Megan under her wing as her apprentices.

==Golden Sun==

Mia was busy running around town and healing various villagers who fell victim to a cold epidemic when she suddenly noticed a light coming from Mercury Lighthouse. She was initially confused as she knew that only someone from the Mercury Clan could access the lighthouse, then she realized that it must have been Alex and ran off to the lighthouse to investigate. There she met [[Isaac]] and his companions [[Garet]] and [[Ivan]]. After they helped her solve several puzzles to progress into the lighthouse, Mia felt she could trust Isaac and joined his group as the fourth and final member.

They arrived at Mecury Lighthouse's aerie too late; it had already been lit. Mia thought this was not possible without the Mercury Star, but then Isaac's group informed her that [[Saturos]] and [[Menardi]]'s gang had stolen all the Elemental Stars from Sol Sanctum for use in re-lighting all the lighthouses. Mia was disappointed at having failed her sole duty, but they then got the chance to battle Saturos. During the battle, Mecury Lighthouse's beacon both weakened Saturos's Mars Psynergy and strengthened Mia's Mercury Psynergy, which led to Saturos being defeated with relative ease. Alex then revealed himself and taught Mia more about Psynergy while revealing his ties with Saturos. Alex then teleported away with Saturos, leaving Mia shocked about the new powers Alex had developed.

Mia was intent on pursuing Saturos's gang with Isaac's group. Although she had mixed feelings about leaving Imil, she knew that its people would be able to take care of themselves with the healing Water of Hermes flowing again from the lighthouse's fountain. So they traveled across Angara and Gondowan, eventually making their way towards the Venus Lighthouse. They were once more too late to stop the lighthouse from being activated, but this time they were able to conclusively defeat both Saturos and Menardi in battle, the two committing suicide afterwards. An apparent freak accident prevented them from catching up with [[Felix]] and the gang's hostage [[Sheba]], but they soon set off to sea on [[Babi]]'s Lemurian ship in search of the lost island of Lemuria as well as Felix's group and the last lighthouses.

==The Lost Age==

It is implied that Isaac's group found the Sea of Time (which contained Lemuria), but were forced to turn back after failing to defeat Poseidon. They then traveled across Indra and southern Gondowan in pursuit of Alex's group as well as a Lemurian named [[Piers]], but they eventually wound up at the Jupiter Lighthouse instead. Mia wound up being caught in a trap there, as was Garet when he tried to help her. This trap was set by [[Karst]] and [[Agatio]], who proceeded to ambush Isaac and Ivan. Although they were defeated, Felix's group arrived and convinced Agatio and Karst to spare them. After Felix lit the Jupiter Lighthouse, Isaac and Felix's groups met up at Contigo in order to sort out their differences. [[Kraden]] was able to convince Isaac's group that the world was in danger of dying if they did not awaken Alchemy by lighting all of the lighthouses, so they all decided to work together on the last one, Mars Lighthouse. Mia and Piers were both relieved that they were able to come to an agreement instead of fighting.

They eventually reached Mars Lighthouse, but they found that releasing the last beacon would cause power from all the lighthouse's beacons to combine above Mt. Aleph to form a light of pure power, the Golden Sun. Mia was specifically shocked to learn from The Wise One that Alex was climbing Mt. Aleph at that moment to claim it. The Wise One summoned a "miracle" known as the Doom Dragon as their final test. They were able to beat it, but then they found that it was actually a forcibly transformed version of Jenna's parents as well as Isaac's father. Mia tried her hardest to heal Jenna's parents, but to no avail, although the energy released by the Mars Lighthouse wound up restoring them instead. Mia's thoughts showed that she held Alex responsible and would not forgive him. After the Mars beacon was lit, a telepathic channel was opened through which Megan and Justin communicated with them, warning them that it was best to stay away from the lighthouses while they were releasing excess power. With the whole crisis resolved, Mia traveled to Vale afterwards with the rest of Isaac and Felix's group, only to find it destroyed. Garet was distraught at his family being gone, but Mia and Sheba proceeded to tease him due to seeing that Garet's family was actually alive and well.

=Abilities=

As a Mercury Adept, Mia is inclined towards water-based Mercury Psynergies and healing abilities. Her exact Psynergy abilities are a variable depending on her current class (decided by which types of Djinn she has equipped at a given moment) and any special items she might have equipped. Her default Psynergies are Ply as well as eventually its stronger forms, Ply Well and Pure Ply. In battle, she can wield maces and staffs as weapons.

'''Ivan''' is one of the four playable characters of [[Isaac]]'s party in ''[[Golden Sun]]'' and ''[[Golden Sun: The Lost Age]]''. He is a Jupiter Adept with strong telepathic abilities.

=Background=

Ivan was born in Contigo, and he was the younger of two siblings who inherited the ancient powers of the Anemos. Ivan's mother wanted a better life for him, and the time came when the people of Contigo helped the passing merchant Hammet, who was in mortal danger. Ivan's mother decided to leave him in Hammet's care and died soon afterwards. The people of Contigo gave Hammet doubloons, the Shaman's Rod and the business advice that Hammet used to raise a fortune. Hammet wound up founding the merchant town of Kalay with this money, and Ivan was able to receive the upbringing that his mother thought he deserved, although he technically was Hammet's servant. Additionally, a Jupiter Adept at the village had told Hammet a prophecy, that three years after a terrible storm that hit only Mt. Aleph, Ivan would have to depart on a journey with warriors from Vale. Hammet was also tasked with using the Shaman's Rod to unearth a special item that would help Ivan on his quest, but he had little luck in finding it.

==Golden Sun==

Hammet brought Ivan on a trip to Vault, because he felt that his time was running out as three years had passed since a storm had struck Vale. However, the rod was stolen, and Ivan was held responsible for it. Hammet had his caravan leave town immediately after Mt. Aleph erupted, but Ivan had to stay behind until he could recover the rod. Ivan soon met Isaac and [[Garet]] when they came into town, using his mind reading abilities to learn that his own ability was called Psynergy and that they had much in common. He convinced them to help him find his master's rod, and together they were able to corner and expose the thieves. With the Shaman's rod recovered, Ivan was ready to return to Hammet and decided to read Isaac's mind to see where he and Garet were going next. In doing so, he learned about Isaac's quest to prevent the four lighthouses from being lit. However, he learned that Hammet had traveled to Lunpa and been captured by the ruthless thief Dodonpa.

Ivan parted ways with Isaac and Garet, setting off for Lunpa himself in an attempt to save Hammet. Ivan did not bother asking Isaac for help because he had seen how important Isaac's mission was. When Ivan reached Lunpa, he could find no way to enter, so he backtracked and wound up meeting with Isaac and Garet at Goma Cave, because their mission had been weighing on his mind ever since he had learned it. Ivan decided that if he could not help Hammet, he would help Isaac in his quest and joined their party. He then accompanied them northwards to the Mercury Lighthouse, where their party was completed by [[Mia (Golden Sun)|Mia]], but they failed to prevent [[Saturos]] from lighting that lighthouse's beacon.

At the Lama Temple, they met Master Hama, who introduced herself as a Jupiter Adept like Ivan. Ivan was confused due to not knowing he was a Jupiter Adept, but Hama assured him that he was and just did not know it yet. She also assured them that Ivan already had the ability to predict the future, even if he did not show any signs of it. Hama's true goal was to teach Ivan the Reveal ability, which they needed to cross Lamakan Desert. Hama was reluctant to pass on the ability at first, however, due to believing that she had failed in passing on a different ability to [[Feizhi]]. But then, as if on cue, Feizhi arrived and demonstrated that power of foresight. Before leaving to help Feizhi, Hama passed Reveal on to Ivan and was glad he had grown to be "such a strong man". Ivan was left confused, as he did not know Hama but at the same time did not feel like she was a stranger. Ivan was then content to move along on their quest and was sure that Hama would reveal the true meaning of her words after they completed their task.

They eventually reached Kalay and reported Hammet's capture to his wife, Lady Layana. Layana revealed part of the truth in Ivan's path partaining to Hammet's raising him and the prophecy connected to him. Although she promised that Kalay would be able to free Hammet, Ivan wound up being the one to rescue him with Isaac's group in an optional sidequest. Layana was angry at Ivan for disobeying him, but she was doing so to mask her pain at having to part with Ivan. Hammet also told Ivan that he had to take the Shaman's Rod to Hesperia. However, Isaac's group later wound up in a hostage situation atop Venus Lighthouse, when [[Saturos]] and [[Menardi]] had [[Sheba]] held captive. Ivan had to surrender the Shaman's Rod in order to ensure Sheba's safety, and he gladly did so only to find that he had been bamboozled; Saturos had only promised her safety and thus refused to release her. Saturos and Menardi were ultimately defeated, but the Venus Lighthouse was still lit while [[Felix]] escaped with Sheba and the Shaman's Rod. Ivan then joined Isaac's group in sailing off to sea on [[Babi]]'s Lemurian ship, to find both the lost land of Lemuria and the last two lighthouses.

==The Lost Age==

It is uncertain exactly what happened after Isaac's group set off for sea, but they eventually traveled across Indra and southern Gondowan in pursuit of Felix's group (as well as [[Piers]]). They were able to make their way to the Jupiter Lighthouse, but Isaac and Ivan were ambushed there by [[Agatio]] and [[Karst]] while Garet and Mia were caught in a trap. Ivan tried his best, but he was defeated shortly before Isaac himself fell. Luckily for them, Felix's group arrived and was able to dissuade Agatio and Karst from killing them. After they recuperated, they chased Felix's group to the top of the lighthouse, to find that Felix had already ignited this lighthouse as well. The confrontation was broken off with the promise that both groups would meet up in Contigo to negotiate what exactly they were all doing.

So they traveled to Contigo, and Ivan discovered that this was where he was born, as well as the fact that he had a sister. During the meeting, Isaac's group discovered that the world would end unless they lit all of the lighthouses. Hama arrived to confirm this and also confirmed that she was in fact Ivan's sister, but she did not want to discuss that subject at the time. When Ivan confronted her afterwards, Hama told Ivan that she did not tell him the truth earlier because she did not want to risk him giving up his quest to find Contigo due to how sentimental he was. She also told Ivan not to think of her as his sister until after he has fulfilled his destiny.

The two groups then teamed up together to light the last lighthouse, Mars Lighthouse. Along the way they defeated the transformed Agatio and Karst, as well as the deadly Doom Dragon, which was a transformed combination of Kyle's father with Jenna's parents, due to the machinations of the Wise One. Ivan was among the others in questioning the Wise One's actions and was last seen accompanying Isaac and Felix's group on the trip back to Vale.

=Abilities=

As a Jupiter Adept, Ivan has an inclination towards wind-based Psynergy. However, he can learn a variety of different Psynergies depending on his class (which can be changed by switching the Djinn he has equipped). His default Psynergies from the beginning are Whirlwind and Mind Read. He later learns Reveal from Master Hama.
