PokéPark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure is a Pokémon spin-off for the Nintendo Wii which stars Pikachu.

Story[edit]

Pikachu was spending time with its friends Charmander, Chikorita and Piplup when they were encountered by Mew. Pikachu winds up falling down a hole into another world populated entirely by Pokémon and is separated by from its friends. This world is the PokéPark, and Mew appears to Pikachu in a dream to warn it that the Sky Prism has been broken into 14 shards which must be recovered to save the PokéPark. Pikachu sets off on this adventure while also seeking its friends.

Gameplay[edit]

The player controls Pikachu starting at the PokéPark entrance and must explore the eight different zones of the PokéPark. The game primarily consists of different types of minigames, some of which can only be accessed with the game's currency, which is berries. Each zone has special minigames called Attractions which must be cleared to earn the shards of the Sky Prism. The other type of minigame is a Skill Game, which Pikachu usually must complete in order to befriend other Pokémon. Befriended Pokémon are then recorded in a Friend List, which is this game's equivalent to the Pokédex, and they can then become playable in certain minigames. There is a total of 193 Pokémon from the first four generations found in the game.

The game can be saved through a menu. It is also possible to take photographs and save them to the game (which can hold up to 30 photos) or a separate SD card.

Legacy[edit]

Sequels[edit]

  • A sequel called PokéPark 2: Wonders Beyond was later made in 2011. It focuses on the fifth generation of Pokémon and features that generation's starter Pokémon as additional playable characters.
