Debut Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door

The final partner in Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Ms. Mowz is the first Mario RPG character that is not automatically recruited in the course of the game. Instead, she must be gained by assisting her at the Trouble Center. Though she is the 'seventh' partner, she actually can be recruited as your sixth partner. She lives a double life, one as the normal manager of the 'Howz of Badges'. The other she spends as the famous badge hunter, Ms. Mowz. She hunts for only the rarest of badges, going anywhere and doing anything to get them.

Background[edit]

She and Mario first crossed paths in Hooktail's Castle while she was busy snatching a badge. After giving him a bit of advice, she gave him a quick kiss and vanished. She once again met him at Boggly Woods after knocking out an X-Naut minion. He also finds her at the Glitz Pit in the secret storage room. They don't 'officially' meet again until Ms. Mowz lures him on top of a building to discuss retrieving a secret badge at Hooktail's castle as part of a Trouble Center sidequest. After Mario finds it, Ms. Mowz reveals she put it there to test Mario's skills. As such, she decides to accompany him for his excellent badge-finding skills. Allied with Mario, she assists him by using her top-notch treasure hunting and thieving skills.

After finishing their quest, she returns to her badge hunting, though she does come back to assist Mario when he comes back to Rogueport to tie up some loose ends.

Gameplay[edit]

Outside of battle, Ms. Mowz can sniff around an area in search of hidden items.

In battle, Ms. Mowz has the following attacks:

  • Love Slap - Ms. Mowz will walk up to the front enemy on the ground and slap it, ignoring defense.
  • Kiss Thief - For 2 FP, Ms. Mowz can attempt to steal an item that an enemy is holding.
  • Tease - For 3 FP, Ms. Mowz will perform a series of acrobatic leaps that can make enemies dizzy for a few turns.
  • Smooch - For 10 FP, Ms. Mowz can give Mario a kiss, restoring up to 10 HP.

Ms. Mowz starts with 15 HP, but will progress to 20 and then 25 HP as her rank is raised.
