Mike is a karaoke robot who acts as a recurring character in the Warioware games.

Background[edit]

Mike was a karaoke robot that was built by Dr. Crygor in WarioWare: Touched!!. Oddly enough, he was designed to keep the lab clean. Mike initially did dutifully work on cleaning the lab, but things went awry when his 'karaoke programming' took over while he was blowing some dust away. He then took off and flew to the alien-bunny spacestation to host the ultimate karaoke party. Dr. Crygor later arrived to take him home. Once back at the lab, Crygor challenged Mike to a sing-off that Mike won. After accusing the doctor of being 98.7% awful, the doctor got mad at the criticism. As a result Mike took off on his own, but apparently returned later on and continued being Crygor's assistant.

In WarioWare: Smooth Moves, Mike cheered Dr. Crygor on when he competed with Penny in the Invent-Off, and following the match all three danced in the ring while Penny sang into Mike's microphone. Mike was also seen in Dr. Crygor's stage, where he helped to operate the Kelorometer. In Game & Wario, he appeared as the host of the multiplayer Disco minigame and also acted as its dj.

Other Appearances[edit]

Video Games[edit]

  • In Rhythm Heaven Megamix, Mike appeared in the "Wario... Where?" version of the Fillbots 2 minigame, where multiple Mike robots replaced the minigame's titular robots.

Trivia[edit]

  • His name is a simple play on "mic", a shorthand for "microphone".
  • In Touched!, his minigames are the only ones that don't use the touchscreen, but instead are based around blowing into the system's microphone.
  • He does not make a full appearance in WarioWare: D.I.Y., but he does appear in stamp form in the Comic Makermatic.
  • His favorite hobby is aromatherapy, and he can apparently make a good fruit punch.
  • The English and Japanese versions of Mike's theme song appear in Super Smash Bros. Brawl as hidden tracks. The tracks were used again in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
  • During a Spirit battle with Dr. Crygor's Spirit in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, ROB appears as a stand-in for Mike. This, along with the usage of his theme music, is the closest that Mike has gotten to any appearance in the Super Smash Bros. series.
