The land of Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland, presumably an incarnation of Hyrule, consists of eleven islands grouped into three separate continents. The islands within a continent can be connected by bridges after paying off Duke and his siblings, though continents themselves are isolated from each other. Upon raising the Western Pool tower to a certain height, Tingle can leap from the apex of the tower and float to a specific island with his hot air balloon; he can also return to his house at any time via balloon.

Half of the islands consist of a dungeon, and every island has an incomplete map of itself hidden in the area, usually held by the Look-What-I-Found Kid; these are the primary ways to earn rupees in each area. For those areas without dungeons, other profitable tasks will present themselves. Each island has a Bodyguard Salon and one of the pirates' blue treasure chests, save for the first.

First Continent[edit]

Hometown Prairie[edit]

Tingle's home island and the first accessible area of the game. The Western Pool, Tingle's house, and Port Town can all be found on the southern edge of this island. To the north is a small area consisting of a pack of rats and pigs, a small pool with Wakame Seaweed, and a few plateaus. The secret hole in the Hometown Prairie is found on the leftmost plateau. Aba also appears here on Tingle's first visit and teaches him the basics of battling with squeaky toys.

The map for Hometown Prairie is held by the Map-Seller in this area. She gives it to him and requests his assistance in filling out the maps, then teaches him how to do so with her husband's grave. Unmapped landmarks of Hometown Prairie include:

  • Husband's Grave - The Husband's Grave is found in quadrant A1. Tapping it will reveal that it is the grave of the Master Mapper. The Map-Seller does not reward Tingle for marking this.
  • Fish Rock - The Fish Rock is found in quadrant A1. Tapping it will free the Fairy Doll from its mouth. The Map-Seller rewards Tingle with 50 rupees for marking this.

The map of Hometown Prairie can be sold to the Map-Seller for 100 rupees and bought back for 125 rupees.
