Kirby: Canvas Curse is the first Kirby game on the Nintendo DS. In Japan, it's called Touch! Kirby and in Europe, it's Kirby: Power Paintbrush.
Story
One day, a portal opened and a witch named Drawcia came out of it. Drawcia casted a spell over Dream Land, turning the land into paint. Drawcia went back through the portal and Kirby managed to follow. Drawcia cursed Kirby, removing his arms and legs. The Magic Paintbrush turns to the player to for help. So begins the quest to defeat Drawcia.
Gameplay
Rather than controlling him with the D-Pad and buttons, players use the stylus to create a path for Kirby. Drawing path depletes the player's supply of rainbow ink which slowly recharges as the game progresses.
The game is divided into eight worlds of three levels. The player must find their way to the goal on each level. At the third level of each world, there is a boss that must be defeated. Players can also find medals that can be used to unlock new modes.
Besdies the main mode, there is also Time Trial and Line Trial. Time Trial challenges the player to get through in the least amount of time while Line Trial challenges them to use as little ink as possible.
Legacy
Sequels
The next Kirby adventure on the DS would be Kirby: Squeak Squad. Around a decade later, it will be receiving a more direct sequel in the form of Kirby and the Rainbow Curse for the Nintendo 3DS.
